Do you think this guy is going to be a big deal? He's had segments with Vince, possible talk of Cena feud and he's the current US Champ. Comparing him to Randy Orton from 2003 you can rise pretty fast in a year. This time next year he could be WWE Champ. Now Roman Reigns is obviously the current face of WWE. Theory overtaking Reigns possible? Reigns although doing well is still boring so I'm waiting for a new face.

No chance unless they get creative and start writing better stories.
Like big pre-cursors to long babyface runs for “chosen” faces of the company who are heels is for there to be a catalyst in their progress..
Brock and Heyman split at survivor series following a decent stand off with Big Show after Hell in a Cell and going over like rover through the year.
Cena joining the babyface team at survivor series that year; this followed months of entertaining promos.
Batista turning face on Evolution/Triple H after the story for months.
Reigns was a much weaker one. With Rollins turning heel heel on shield.
So the trend with these things and general storytelling of course is bad. But if I was to turn optimistic, they could do a story where Theory is placed in a sympathetic light but it should be done slowly and steadily rather than all of a sudden change and somebody else taking the action that causes his change of mentality.
It can be done but can 2022 WWE do it? I don’t think so.

IMHO Theory definitely has the tools needed to be a huge star in the wrestling business. The parallels people are drawing in comparing him to Cena aren't without merit. There is a lot of similarity there.
I will say that right now, whether it Theory or really anyone else... No one will ever be allowed to get beyond a certain level. There is not just a glass ceiling in place these days, there's a six inch thick sheet of bulletproof plexiglass painted black for anyone not named Roman Reigns (or Brock Lesnar when he's around). It's abundantly clear that WWE (aka Vince) think Reigns vs Rock is the be all, end all match of history and he's apparently willing to sacrifice anything and everything, including the momentum of many wrestlers doing stellar work right now, to build one guy up as much as he can until Rock is available for the match. Until that match happens, no one else will ever be allowed to climb all the way to the top.

Out of all the great talent they released and don't use why push theory? The guys a joke and a rip off of Tyler Breeze who played the gimmick way better. People also compare him to Cena & Orton which IMO is an insult.
Does Vince seriously think this guy will put butts on seats and sell out PPV's?

I’m sure people said the same thing about Orton & Cena when HBK, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Kurt Angle and so forth were ruling the roost. Tyler Breeze was a fashion model gimmick who took selfies of himself on a selfie stick. Theory takes goofy selfies when he beats someone, they’re not the same. He’s young, that’s why. Everyone else was 10+ years older than him. He has 20+ years in him to build a legacy and build off of |

A lot of that talent they released was near 40 years old. They need to build towards the future. I think it was the Rumble last year where only one guy was younger than 30 years old. So far so good. He’s got a long way to go, but he’s already looking like a future big star. I’m not sure he’ll be world champions within the next year, but I can definitely see him main eventing WrestleMania within the next five years.
I don’t know if he’ll reach the level of a Cena or Reigns, but he seems certain to at least follow in the footsteps of Orton and Miz and be a guy they can rely on in any spot for decades to come.

I don't think he's good enough to justify the push - albeit a mid-card one, or all the attention he's getting, in the spot of Vince's pet project/protege... I mean, he's no MJF. The main reason I can't/won't get onboard with Theory though, is because he should've been fired months ago.

Theory is good, he is a young enough talent that can be with the WWE for the next 20 years like a Randy Orton for example.

I feel like Austin Theory has a lot of potential: great look, he's talented in the ring, and has some kind of charisma. He plays his obnoxious heel persona well. I def see him as this generation's answer to Randy Orton, but time will tell if he'll ever even have a fraction of that longevity.

I don’t really keep up with the product as much anymore, but this is one of those guys I can’t really get behind. He’s a total goofball and reminds me of a generic Miz. Unfortunately, I don’t think a lot of the talent on the roster are memorable or have much for people to invest in or care for. I briefly saw his match with Ali. I would of preferred to see Ali win and see what they could do with someone like him. He has pretty good mic skills and has great in ring ability . I do see Theory doing well, it seems like the plan is to push him to the moon at some point.

Theory is good, he is a young enough talent that can be with the WWE for the next 20 years like a Randy Orton for example. Orton deserves credit for his own success and longevity in WWE, but he also had the luxury of working with some HUGE established names early in his career that really helped solidify him as a star. Theory won't have that same luxury. |

Here's How I believe Austin Theory succeeds:
1) He beats John Cena at Summer Slam 2022 in a non title match in a heel vs tweenerish heel match, because Cena costs Theory the US Title against Lashley.
2) Austin Theory pretends to buddy up to "The Blood line" and kicks out Sami Zayn and poisons the entire Blood Line against Roman Reigns.
3) Bronn Breaker wins the MITB match and then dethrones Brock Lesnar *whom dethrones Roman Reigns* in a WWE Championship match at the end of the year or WM next year and retires him properly.
4) Building off of that, Austin Theory should do a double turn with Matt Riddle and have a feud with Theory coming out on the winning end.
5) If he must be paired off with someone, it should be Mandy Rose with a tweener turn after Toxic Attraction turns their backs on her.
6) Bronn Breaker must be put over by Roman Reigns, then Reigns disappears.
7) Austin Theory and Mandy Rose as tweeners/faces vs Drew Mc Intyre and Nikita Lyons or Tiffany Stratton as heels must occur with Drew putting over Theory Ultimately.
8) Austin Theory after all this build up wins the 2027 RR. And is then sent at Bronn Breaker for the WWE Championship.
9) Theory wins the WWE Championship from Bronn Breaker in 2027.
10) Austin Theory is all set in my opinion.
