There's only so much space on a shelf. With new figures and updated versions always coming out, sometimes a figure must get banished to a baggy and storage bin. Enter OCD. I have saved every box from every elite figure I have ever bought. So I thought it might be cool to take some of my more valuable figures and put them back in to their plastic prisons. First, the main shelf, which doesnt not include the current rosters. Re-boxed: Perhaps a fun little project.

Maybe with all the space taken up for empty boxes you could get more shelves/bookcases to display loose? I dont think you will gain any space by putting them back in the boxes…

I dont think you will gain any space by putting them back in the boxes… All the empty boxes are just stacked in my cold, unfinished basement right now. Plus I wouldnt do this for all of the un-displayed figures as I have hundreds of them. I was just thinking for the more valuable ones to better protect them

I've kept all the boxes too, but am preparing to flatten the cardboard and throw out the plastic...Taking up too much space in my garage.

I only save the back cardboard slip. Why do I do this? 😆

I've thought about reboxing some of my figures. I like the look of them on display, and if plastic-free, windowless packaging is going to be regular thing in the future, I should probably sort out that part of the collection now. I haven't kept many boxes though. I recently did a head swap on the Survivor Series Bret Hart. Might box that back up. I don't care if it's not the original. It looks nifty to me.

I love the boxes but I’m a loose collector. I do this though because I like the look of mic figures but you can’t pose or play with mic figures!!

I'd take it would be a lot harder to repackage a figure back into its original pose

I kept the empty Retrofest boxes intact despite removing the figures. They were too cool to throw away. I think I also have some empty NXT boxes and RSC exclusive boxes.
I also cut out the box pictures to keep in my accessory bags. It makes it easier to keep track of whose spare hands etc. belong to whom.

The good things with the Elites, is the fact they can be reboxed without any damage to the backing card. You'll know as a Jakks collector too, once they were off of the card then the card was really only bin worthy. I did spend my childhood keeping the boxes of Classic's and putting them back in when I was finished playing with them, something about the card felt special even to me then.
With the Mattels, they can be displayed for as long as you want loose and the boxes can be in just as good condition as when you originally bought them!

As a loose collector I keep the boxes. I just like the boxes/designs. When I moved I said I’ll put them each back in the boxes. I didn’t do that. In fact the fig boxes I have are in 2 big boxes & or just stacked up in my closet.

I kept the bubbles for my BCAs back in the day and always put them back when I was done playing with the for the day.
