There's a recession going on with people struggling to afford groceries and the gas to get to work, and yet we got dumb MF'ers willingly dropping $75 on a Matt Cardona doll. What the... Why? Seriously - why? If you bought one of these --- why?!??! Cardona looking to squeeze some more dollars out of collectors before inflation goes to the moon and the toy bubble pops.

Honestly there is a lot of work going into Matt’s fig to get all of those paint splatters in. They’re probably charging $75 for Brian’s fig to make up some of that cost. Otherwise you’d probably have Matt’s figure at $95 and Brian’s at the normal $55. That’s not what they said though

They’re not gonna come right out and say that they’re overcharging for Brian’s fig to make up for the cost of Matt’s so they’re gonna spin it and say they were both equally expensive to make even though there’s nothing complicated about Meyer’s fig.

But why? Mattel do. Steve has been open that if they do heavy deco figures they have to balance it with lower deco. They’re still the same price. I’m sure hasbro and all other companies do the same. Why would super 7 be different? In the video Brian from super 7 even brought up a figure (was it gi Joe?) where one figure was in all plain black to balance out the cost of the line. If indeed it is the case that Brian’s was less (snd I’m saying if because we can’t say it’s a fact as we don’t know 100%) then it would’ve been better to just say that

Brian’s figure does not have the same extra work that went into Matt’s. His figure shoulda been $55 like all the other Ultimates. The only explanation for it to be $75 is to balance out the line so they don’t have to charge even more for Cardona’s figure.

Don’t value their influence on the collectors that high. Prizes for collectibles have risen alot in general since the beginning of corona pandemic. It’s not obly the wrestling collectibles. Star Wars, GI Joe etc. have all had all time high prizes.

Video games, cards, even vhs However markets are being artificially inflated by the same speculators who used to buy comic books. Look at the recent large video game sales, they’re not done by a collector they’re done by consortiums Cardona buying a hasbro 2 up or similar is a dude super into hasbro buying for his collection and the value of that item with what the buyer snd seller agree to. When a group of adults colab together to buy a video game that’s not even going to sit on one of their shelves. I mean, do they take it in turns to display it for a week? No they put it in a vault and continue to try and inflate the market purchasing more and more hyping up prices then looking to sell at a profit I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same going on with card etc

No they put it in a vault and continue to try and inflate the market purchasing more and more hyping up prices then looking to sell at a profit I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same going on with card etc Prizes will go down now for two obvious reasons: 1.) People were bored during Corona pandemic and bought stuff for nostalgic reasons. These people have definitely increased marketprices. However with the pandemic coming to an end they will refocus and most of them will part with what they have bought during the lockdown phase. 2.) The current crisis in the world. Inflation results in people having less money to spend for their joy. People will simply not be able to spend the money they were able to during the pandemic. This will lead to more offers and reduce the amount of potential buyers. The prices will go down. My personal guess is we will see a reduction by roughly 50% for Hasbro MOC and loose over the next year. These are totally over priced and will take a huge hit. You can already see it by checking the ended listings on evilbay. There are far more high priiced items that don’t sell anymore. To not lose the topic completely: these figures look great, but I don’t see many people being able to spend that mich money on two new figures. You can get 4 UItimate Edition figures for the same amount.

The major guys have hinted at other wrestlers being interested in getting Super7s. If this series 2 price hike is (fingers crossed) temporary. I’d love to see Effy and Nick Gage join in. Maybe Warhorse?
