So we actually getting reveals next week for Aew lol nothing been said Probably the all new 1 of 10 series. But to make it fair JP surely pitched a 1 of 25 set to so that the collectors can really be happy 🙄 In all seriousness though, this crap reminds me of the jakks days with him and why I’m glad they (jakks and Jeremy) lost the wwe license. It makes me lose interest in buying their products and surely does the same to fellow customers/collectors I pitched it, but they told me I don't work there and to get out. 🤷‍♂️

I had to stop following Jeremy on socials because all he talks about is rarity, there’s no love for the actual item just the rarity of it.
A lot of the push back of “it’s part of the business, I enjoy hunting things down” comes from certain people who then influence their cults views and it’s because said influencers have the contacts and finances to get the items
The brand is built in the guys who go and get the figures in retail / online etc, that’s the lifeblood of the line. Yet con exclusives like this let them down imo

We’re upset we can’t give them our money, Einstein. They’re the ones losing out on money with this 2004 style convention exclusive and 3000/5000 piece chases that people who actually want them can’t get Weird that no one wants Mattel to start doing this stuff… almost like everyone with a brain hates it… Right? No one's out there complaining that you can preorder a Mattel chase for a reasonable price. This only helps the aftermarket, not the line and not the customer. And it doesn’t even give a real representation - it falsely inflates the aftermarket based on artificial inflation due to manufactured scarcity by limiting production to such low numbers The employee exclusives on jakks were ok because they were not intended to be sold to the public but limiting to such low numbers in todays market is silly low and means they’re leaving a lot of money in the table

Y’all realize we have to collectively keep bitching about these things for it to change right? They changed the chases once because we complained but it’s not enough, they need changed again, and stuff like this needs to not be numbered AT ALL. 5000 figures is still not enough and they still have people stealing a ton of them in China
I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on some of the original early super limited chases. None of that money went to Jazwares, they’ve only gotten $42 from the two chases I was lucky to find in stores, eBay sellers got over $1000 when all combined
Why is champ Darby limited to 500 pieces? Why is Riho with a good face limited to 1000 pieces? Why is eyepatch Moxley limited to 5000 pieces?
If they keep doing two chases in every set plus ShopAEW figures and stuff then over 25% of this line will have 5000 or less copies available. If it was still the die cast belts from the RA era no one would care but these are unique figures
Praise Mattel for actually treating us right on this one

My friend only collects figs from shows he attends and he was instantly turned offnby Jazwares. That said, I stand by you and this post.

Just happy I'm not interested in it but hate it for big Brodie fans,I was thinking it was gonna be the Punk,Sting and Darby pack with face paint. So so glad I was wrong Honestly, if it was that, I probably would quit the line. I was at that event and that is one of my biggest wants.

I absolutely HATE this practice. Locking different attires behind these limited run numbers are KILLING the potential attires we can get. Thankfully a lot of the more recent chases have been objectively worse than the standard, such as the upcoming Britt Baker in Unrivaled 10, but it's still locking off certain outfits. The Darby Ricky Starks in particular is frustrating. The Rosa's the one that really frustrates me. That's a great look.

I said this a few months ago, but I stand by it.
We won't be far off of Jeremy doing what he did at Jakks and creating Employee Editions, Limited to 100 Exclusives etc. The guy can't help himself, as much as I love what he did in the Classic line and I own the figures, I've paid more money than common sense should allow for half his Limited run ones.
He still thinks that this is what collectors want, I think it's gonna take a huge effort for that to change.
Most of you guys that collect this line are tearing your hair out to get the Chase and Rare variants because those figures are better than the regular and you wan't them to open and display. His Classic Superstars stuff wasn't for opening for most where these are. I don't understand the "Limited to a number" approach. Mattel do great with their Chases and they're mostly readily available, why can't they do that with the AEW line?
These Rare and Chase figures are behind the huge eBay scalping paywall for ridiculous money. Most can't afford that dosh every month for two extra figures. Its ludicrous at this point to expect people to pay hundreds for them.
I honestly believe it has to stop and they should go with the Mattel way of doing it.
As much of a collector of Jakks as I am, I think most collectors are past the "Limited Edition, so let's play the eBay game for it" figures.

It’s really insulting when they do the fanfest and Greg and Magic act like it’s great that they’ve made these chases and people should be excited for them. We can’t get them, you’re showing us something we’ll never find, why should I be excited about it? I used to be upset that Mattel would make store exclusive figures but I’m glad that those Punk/Hangman/Sammy/Darby figures are store exclusives, because it’s better than the alternative

And it won’t take long for people to get frustrated that attires they want are behind the eBay paywall as you put it and then lose interest in the line I agree. That's what put me off of the line originally. I'm not blaming Ringside here, but when they put up the 1/1000 and 1/500 Cody & Jericho from Series 1 they were actually reasonably priced. But by the time some people had checked out, you already had a ton up on eBay for 4/5 times the price Ringside charged. I honestly think that's why they stopped offering them individually and instead randomly sent them out in orders, which is good for those that get them, but I think they did that to stop eBay scalpers taking advantage. I used to be upset that Mattel would make store exclusive figures but I’m glad that those Punk/Hangman/Sammy/Darby figures are store exclusives, because it’s better than the alternative We (UK) don't get a lot of the store exclusives and have to go the eBay route, but over the past few years there's been a fair few online retailers that are importing them and making it easier for us. I get what you're saying though, why dangle the carrot when it's completely out of reach? They are showing a figure that you can only get at the event, what are the odds we see a ton pop up on eBay for ridiculous prices in the coming days. Pretty likely I'd say. With the Jakks Limited stuff, there was no choice with them (1/100's I'm talking about). They were given away and never sold at the events they were shown at, unless you bought it on eBay for an absurd price you just flat out were never going to own it. Jeremy loves that. I'd say that's slightly out of touch with most collectors in this market though. That's just my opinion backed by the comments on Social Media and on here.

The point is not that store exclusives are good, they’re not great for people outside the United States, but they are better than Jeremy’s chase bs, because they might be imported or if you have an American friend. And even if you don’t, store exclusives are way less expensive on eBay I personally do RSC a bit of side eye. They were the ones the made Jericho $100 and Cody $200. They set the market to go beyond that. Jeremy is an NFT crypto grifter through and through, crypto and markets and artificially rare collectibles is all he talks about.

A Mattel Legend figure is maybe £35-50. The Rare and Chase AEW figures go far and beyond that. I'll give Ringside a pass here even though yes, they set the bar at $200 but it's not their fault they were then put on eBay for a grand 5 minutes after they sold out of their stock.

I just don’t get the need to have everything. This Brodie doesn’t look that special and shouldn’t be a glaring hole in anyone’s collection if they miss out. Why is it such a big deal that you can’t get it? Is it really killing you to know that something exists in the world that you can’t have?

Perhaps their completionist behavior stems from some sort of OCD? Also, if you REALLY want THIS figure for YOUR collection ... you can get it. Money will not sway you. If you just HAVE to have it ... the Bay is there for you and you CAN have it. So if you ask me, lots of the complainers simply want to one day flip this figure (or own something with value) ... and they're sour they can't get it for cheap from the start. Why flip something you yourself had to pay a lot for they'll say. Other than OCD, it's the only logical explanation. This figure is obtainable, this figure will not be worth anything amazing in 20 years, and dozens upon dozens of companies have a con exclusive only.
