There isnt a collectors edition in elite 96. The set has 6 different figures and a chase. If there was a collectors edition it would be 7 different figures and a chase. And he is advertised and listed as normal elite line. So Hogan will NOT be the collectors edition ;-) To their point, E94 has 7 figures in the assortment with the Bulldog CE. E96 went up with 6 figures. So if Hogan were to be packaged as a CE then they either decided not make this a 7 figure set, or something else planned for the set got cut.

Looking at the original photos I feel we will likely get a SS Hogan repaint (maybe with less of a hot dog tan) and the accessories as it's largely the same Look

Par is 6 plus the chase, and I would expect them to go back to normal. Regardless, now that we have a main line figure in CE packaging, Mattel can absolutely do it again. I don't know why anyone thinks it's crazy that Hogan might come in the exact same packaging as Bulldog.

Doubt it cause bulldog went up for pre order along with the rest and we only have 6 this time for elite 96

It’s not a CE
We would’ve seen 6 main figures (1 as chase attire) and the CE just like we saw with all the other sets from like 60 something to 89
Difference now is that the CE is no longer store exclusive they’re packed in every case

He did one promo with it on (maybe two at a push) and wore the helmet part way through a match. was an attempt to spin some new merchandise but canned pretty quickly. A very strange look and idea! And a deep cut for a figure

Once you understand the backstory....it isn't that bad of a concept. He wore a war bonnet because he is declaring war on the WWE and the first at the top of the helmet could strike at any moment. He had the tank just in case his opponents ran out of gas so that he could force extra gas into them and strike when they least expect it. The license plate on his back was because he would hit them so hard that his opponents wouldn't know what it was that hit them and Hulk Hogan wore the license plate just so they know it wasn't a truck that hit them. It's a deep cut, but for a Hogan mainline release it should be. He wore the helmet at live events in September 1988 and early October.

Unlike the Ultimate WM1 Hulkster figure, of which I bought three, this will be a wait and see for sure. I mean, it’s the yellow trunks and yellow boots Hogan we’ve seen so many times. And I have to say, as a diehard Hulkamania, that helmet and license plate look ridiculous. And where’s the gas tank with straw? That’s part of the whole ensemble! www.wrestlecrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Hulk-Hogan-Fist-Helmet.jpg what in the hell...

Yeah not a look I was clamoring for by any means. Hulk still rules, wrestlemania 18, early wcw hulk, some crazy look like slammys sleeveless tux or American guitar player, etc. Mega powers. But no. War Bonnet.

Hulk striking that bodybuilder pose while wearing that helmet and sucking on a giant straw protruding from his custom HULKSTER motorcycle gas tank… It’s the stuff of madness. God I love the ‘80s. 😅 Speaking of which… No spoilers, I promise, but I’m watching the last episode of Stranger Things, and I’m suddenly feeling the urge to Hulk Up! 😄

I just may have to get this figure ‘cuz it’s so whacky.
The gas tank and straw accessory would put this over the top for me.
BTW, I still kinda want a Saturday Night’s Main Even Halloween episode Hulk Hogan in golden gladiator armor figure. 🤪

This was a house show exclusive and it didn't last for long. (He probably wore the camouflage get up w/Slaughter a lot more than this one). To me, the biggest missing piece is a look with the white tights. He wore those many times on national tv, including SNME and while guest starring on the A-Team.

There’s no more store exclusives in every set. But every once in a while there will a 7th figure in CE packaging.

Great another Hogan we don’t need. I’d much prefer Wrestlemania 18, Starrcade ‘97, ‘96 terminator (could be altered). Those are much more iconic attires that haven’t been released. God, yes, please. Any and all of these please.

There are so many different looks to do before this one...How about the Real American music video with the USA guitar?
