At their retail price, they weren't bad. I recall my local shop selling them for about $12 when they were still in production, but online pricing may have varied. I can't imagine it having been much though since action figures were cheaper back then (like everything nowadays). I also grew up on a home port of Street Fighter 2, but I had Special Champion Edition for the Genesis; one of my very first fighting games (along with MK1).
I still need to get myself a Vega figure. I used to think his Sota figure was good, but I feel like the Figuarts is a huge improvement, especially the face.
Vega is one of my favorites as far as his look, but I don't usually like playing as him when I'm playing SFII, so he gets bumped down my list of favorites. As far as action figures, he'd be a must-buy for me if they make him in this new line.
Yeah, they were in that price range at Suncoast (it was a video store with collectibles as well) so they may have been a few dollars more or less depending online. Unfortunately I cannot recall, although I feel like original reviews would list the exact price. By comparison, the Jazwares Mortal Kombat line (Deception, Shaolin Monks, etc.) retailed for $6! This I remember because I owned each figure in the line at some point due to being cheaper, more readily available, and being sold at KB Toys back in the day. (I even remember when they sold the McFarlane Soul Calibur II statues)
At the end of the day, more renditions of other characters would be welcome in my book, especially characters who only had an action figure or two made (Vega, Ibuki, Fei Long, Dhalsim, Juri, etc)
EDIT: Going off of the "where to buy" section of old mwctoys reviews, the baseline price was in fact $12 with an entire set costing anywhere between $52 to $60 depending on the retailer.
