The rating is a restriction on what COULD happen on the show, so removing that in a world which relies on a anything can happen tag is a good thing. I hate reading anyone trying to crap on the attitude era as if there wasn’t anything more going on there than a few, in their view tawdry, skits. It clearly allowed for more creative freedom across the board - if for nothing else it could be credited for that flow of creative juices resulting in indisputable successes. The least any change to rating would do is offer less limitations to what COULD happen and perhaps get the creative juice back in the room. People will name 4 or 5 things they dislike and ignore how bad everything has been for years. They also ignore all the good that came from that era... Monday night wars, dx, scsa, mick foleys rise, etc.
