I was so torn between Bret/Owen and Bret/Austin.Went with the brothers just because its IMO the best Mania opener of all time

I nearly chose Bret/Owen myself. It was a great match from a generally weak event.

Rude v Warrior - V - loved this match and how Rude managed to drag a good match out of the Warrior. Thought the Heenan grabbing Warriors leg was such a neat finish.

Haku v Hercules - V - WMV was the first event I bought on VHS. Second Haku match I ever saw (after RR92) and was totally taken with him. He looked such a beast, and this was before I heard the stories from outside the ring.

Bret v Austin - XIII - no explanation needed

Savage v Steamboat - III - a timeless classic. I remember as well being really intrigued about the throat injury story. This one just pipped Hogan v Savage at V (although if I didn’t have a weird Haku fetish i might have fitted both on my list ha ha)

I feel you could have got two separate ones out of this

WrestleMania VII: Even to this day I think WrestleMnaia VII is my personal favorite WrestleMania of all time. I was addicted to playing with my Hasbros, loved WrestleMania Challenge on the NES and I was just all in with the WWF at this time. This is a really fun WrestleMania with Warrior vs Savage being the highlight, but there are so many other fun matches on this one, it was also the last WrestleMania where they tried to cram everyone onto the card and have a bunch of 5 minute matches.

WrestleMania X7: From start to end I love this show, it was the apex of the Attitude Era and we have talked about it to death. While I was still a huge fan I would say for at least the next ten years, things were certainly on a downward slope from here for me.

WrestleMania V: I got into wrestling after this event took place, but it was one of the first Silver Vision VHS tapes I got back in the day. This is just an epic event, I love the setting and the Mega Powers exploding is in contention for the greatest WrestleMania match of all time!

WrestleMania VIII: Another great show that I probably watch at least once a year, Piper vs Bret, Savage vs Flair, Hogan vs Sid and the return of the Ultimate Warrior! Plus, I even loved HBK vs Tito as well.

This was actually pretty easy for me to do, I am pretty confident I could be asked this again a year from now and these would be the same four WrestleManias I would pick. Honorable mentions go to, WrestleMania VI, X8 and XXIV.

Ultimate Warrior vs Macho King Randy Savage: WrestleMania VII I have talked about this match to death, hell I even wrote a whole article on it a year or so back. It is my favorite match of all time and I am just as entertained by it today as I was back in 1991.

Bret Hart vs Steve Austin: WrestleMania 12: This is another one of my all time favorite matches and it is a damn classic, Bret in 1997 is one of the best performances the WWF ever had!

Hulk Hogan vs Macho Man Randy Savage: WrestleMania V: What a storyline and what a match, arguably the best storyline the WWF ever did.

Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon: WrestleMania X: A match that I really enjoy and probably fire up a couple of times a year. Both guys did an amazing job and I always think it is harsh when people say that Shawn Michaels had a match with a ladder, Razor more than did his part here.

I could probably write a list of 20 honorable mentions so I will not bother! I think the first three are a real lock in, but the fourth pick I think may change if i were to do this again.

HBK v Tito is a total gem of a match! Great to see Shawn’s singles run in its infancy.

I doubt there will ever be a time that “Ariba McEntire” won’t make me laugh. Priceless!
