I’d rather have swappable ball jointed waists than drop down hips, but if this forces them to retire those godawful ratchet joints, it’s all good. The ratchet joints have bugged me since 2010, good riddance!

Are these like, held on by rubber bands ? I’ve seen this engineering implemented in a lot of figures over the years, from imports to domestic, and never once has a rubber band been a part of it. I’d be shocked if Mattel somehow used rubber bands for this.

Glad to finally see what Bill meant by additional articulation to figures. This make these figure even better and I am glad that Brock gets that articulation. Hopefully elites get this too.

I hope they're not like some other figures on the market where the leg immediately falls off afterwards.

I'm pretty stoked, I knew what Bill was talking about before the video since other lines have them (Some Marvel Legends, GI Joe, imports) but they keep changing the game.
Only things I could see as upgrades now are a ball-jointed waist, the diaphragm doesn't have the best range as it is unless they redesigned them to be true ball-joints.

Next we need better ranges for the ab crunches.

I expected this when Bill said there would be a new articulation added. If you collect higher end figures or Figuarts, you know how these work. I’m not worried at all about this breaking, unless you snap it with excessive force. Really happy to see more improvements along the line. To an extent, I wish they would do away with the toe cut. It’s so unnecessary and looks ugly. Yeah, SHF had drop down hips for years. Even early in the line they were doing that. They wont break but, if they get loose it really brings down the entire figure, imo. I had to basically give away a SHF Kamen Rider cause the drop down hips were a floppy mess. I also have some looseness issues on commando snake eyes and the recent Storm Shadow in the classified line.

Kinda looks like a Brock UE
Anybody know if that’s gonna be on the new one?

If done correctly these are awesome. But most of the time they're worthless tbh. Looking at you gi Joe's. Only good thing about this is hopefully getting away from those awful ratchet joints. Gotta be careful with these too as they like to twist and turn while moving the legs causing potential breakage. Depending on the engineering. Not gonna judge til I get one hand. It's a good step forward though if it's done right.

God I hate Drop down hips. Always have. And I do feel they make figures more fragile. The more articulation a figure has means there more small parts that can break. And the hips are a crucial area to weaken with more movable parts. My Mafex figures I display in an enclosed cabinet so they won’t fall to the floor. When DCD started using them on the Icons line. I made sure I displayed them on the bottom shelf of the cabinet so they wouldn’t break it they fell. The GI Joes I have some have very loose ones especially both of my Breaker figures. Thankfully I don’t play with my figures so I should be ok, but I do feel there will be plenty of broken figures for those that do play with them.

Ehh ... I pose figures for photography but don't have much use for this feature. I would have first preferred they change the torso to crotch connection to make it like the AEW figures and also allow them to be popped off and interchanged with other figures.

With these on GI Joe Classified, it’s my only gripe with the line because they’re very fragile and prone to get loose. I’ve had to buy a bottle of silicone shock oil to lube the hip joint on every GI Joe I have because it causes so much stress on the peg.
