Nailz (tried to choke out Vince) The Mountie (offends the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Scott Steiner (has said the legends deal is not worth the paper it's printed on) Jimmy Snuka (in the court of public opinion, he's guilty of murder) All those plus Rick Steiner and Mr. Fuji are all I feel I NEED. I wonder if new leadership would make a difference. Snuka was never convicted. The law isn't guilty, before being proven innocent. There has been plenty of wrestler that DID get convicted of crimes and still had figures by Mattel. Snuka deserves to have another Elite too. |

I said "in the court of public opinion" not "in a court of law." Public opinion has a far less rigorous statute for guilt. And sadly, it matters maybe as much in terms of economic consequences. |

A wrestler getting convicted of a dui is not going to hold as much weight as someone being accused or on trial for murder. Convicted or not they're still going to have that stink on them. |

I understand that some talent are basically no-go, but I hope this change opens the door for talent that might have been on the fringe to get a figure. Scott Steiner I think is possible more now than ever. Time heals all wounds so let's hope for the best. Rick deserves some royalties too! We'll just have to see where things go and how the company treats Bron as I'm sure Scott is mindful of that. Realistically nailz doesn’t deserve to be made - he debuted 30th may, was gone in dec so he had 6 month and a few days. Feuded with bossman, had a ppv match with Virgil and not much else. Supposedly he was going to feud with taker but it didn’t really come to fruition. There’s far more deserving talent to focus attention on |

Also the Vince has gone thing is overblown imo
He’s a majority shareholder by some degree, does the still own like 80% or something? Also the company’s put in his daughter and son in laws hands from a wrestling side (NK is business not wrestling side) so do we think they will go against his expressed wishes? We might see slight changes but they’re not going to redesign the wheel here

I was interested to discover that not all Legends contracts are exclusive; I'd love to know how the terms of those contracts compare to the exclusive ones.
Guys like Macho Man, British Bulldog, Andre, Greg Valentine, etc., are getting figures made by Chella and ZST; Bret Hart and Kevin Nash have PWT stores and MicroBrawlers whilst Jim Neidhart was reported to being unable to start one due to his WWE deal (IIRC), plus Ted Dibiase's Powertown figure and the RVD ZST figures had been announced but were cancelled due WWE, so what dictates which talent gets offered an exclusive contract and which doesn't? How do the terms compare?
Maybe more legends would be prepared to sign-up to Legends deals on a non-exclusive basis now that there are other merchandise companies? If WWE were prepared to offer those terms to a greater selection of talent then maybe they (and thus Mattel) could have a greater pool of Legends to draw from in future?

Mattel is one of the most bad publicity-averse companies on the planet. It is household name brand and anything "controversial" has the potential to go viral.
"Jazwares releases action figure of accused murderer" is not going to generate a lot of headlines. With Mattel it's a different story.

All the woman that came out to accuse him just blurred the lines of who was taken advantage and who had sex with him to help push their career or they enjoyed having sex with a celebrity. He couldn't stand trial and nobody else was there to say that he did murder her. It could have been an accident too. The law doesn't always work, you right. That doesn't mean everyone is guilty if found innocent based on people's personal belief. |
