Has the Joker always been a "new" guy? Has it ever been an injury return? All I remember is Brian Cage and Lio Rush.

Wasn’t Hangman also the joker in the inaugural Double or Nothing in 2019? I certainly wouldn’t count it the same being that it was their first show, but it would still be true.

Yeah Hangman was the Joker both times,I don't know how I forgot about him at the beginning.

Guessing Joe since he’s done filming. Punk vs Joe at Full Gear.

I got nothing against Joe. But I don't need to see him in a PPV title match. The winners of these matches get their title shots rather quickly on a Dynamite anyway, except Hangman when it was set up in reverse with the Casino match on Dynamite for the PPV spot.

Someone I know said Darius Martin and I could see it I considered that too, given the match is basically tag teams plus Dante. It just seems like a weird way to bring him back but I'd pop hard. As amazing as Dante is, Darius is better.

No offense to the guy, but I don’t think that would go over very well. Neither would Archer IMO, but at least he’s more of a name in AEW.
In-house options I’d go Joe, then Cole. No idea if Cole is cleared, but I hope that he is. Sammy? I’d be into that.. be mad.

I'll go with Cole. TK said after the show they'd "be at 100%". So with Danielson and Punk back from injury, that pretty much leaves Cole as the other huge name who has been out.

If we dont get MJF back,Cole,KOR or Sammy would be who I want the most from the roster but I think I'm leaning more towards Joe getting the spot. I know its a real small chance but I would love to see Ospreay or Dragon Lee be the Joker too.

Many of you know more indie names than I do, by a long shot.
That said, who’s the biggest free agent name? Or someone who’s in a position to work for anyone if given an offer?

EFFY maybe tell me you watch indy wrestling without ACTUALLY telling me you (don't) watch indy wrestling i love effy but he is not the move, nor a big free agent. i also like to think effy has more pride than to just work for anyone. despite his gimmick, he's not a slut.

It's not exactly the deepest scene right now, indie wrestler of the year Mike Bailey is on an impact deal. It's also hard to tell if some guys are on Njpw deals. Like Tom Lawlor would be probably the biggest but I think he actually has a contract with them. Bandido is undoubtedly the one big name but I think he may have just signed with impact. But... A few names that come to mind, and these are not huge names, but huge names don't really exist that aren't signed right now: Jake something Titus Alexander Mance Warner (who they used for that one match obs) Kevin Blackwood There's more but they're all going to be solid guys but nobody that is going to show up and be a main eventer out of nowhere. Ie no one that has any business winning that ladder match.

Yeah I stopped following the indies during the pandemic when everyone that wrestling Twitter sang the praises of either went nowhere or ended up being an abuser. I just know EFFY is still over and apparently not problematic.

Seeing that Ishii is on the show, would anyone else from NJPW be in the states that could be an option?
