I really wasn't planning on getting an MLB game this year, but I think I might want to get 2k8. So anyone have it? How is it? I would really hope it's good, because I mainly play 360. I do have a PS2 but...it just collects dust But if The Show is really so much better than 2k8, I may have to break out the dust buster....

I got the show, it is pretty good, I don't care for any 2k8 games, tried last years mlb 2k7 and it was just not something I liked.

I got the show and it is fantastic!! I don't like the way 2k does there games. I like how you can save the game in the middle this year. The graphics are better. The gameplay is better. The game has improved a lot over 07. I have to get back to the game now it is so good.

I bought the Show for PSP. The load time still blows, but it's not nearly as bad as it was. It's a good game, but I haven't had enough time to play it to figure out how good.

Aside from the annoying small font on 2k8, I love it.

The Show is PS only right? I didn't like 2K last year, so I may wait until I get a PS3 to buy the Show instead.

Picked up 2K8 today for the 360 and I dig it so far. Nice to see that you don't hit as many HR's as last year.
The pitching takes some time to get used to, as I got hammered my first few games. I've got the hang of it now, I think.

I think I am going to pass this year on MLB 2K8. To many other games I want right now, so I will probably just give a rent if I feel the need to get my baseball fix.

The Road to the Show has been changed a lot. On '07 you could count on spending a few months at AA, moving to AAA for most of the year and usually get a cup of tea in the majors for a week or so. The next year you'd spend about half the year in AAA and make it to the minors for good by mid-season.
In 08, I've spent my entire season as an 18 yr old closer/setup man at AA. They won't call me up because of my lead glove.

2k8 is a mess.
The game gets laggy when you throw to first base for crying out loud. Also lags on most hits.
If you want to be the Padres in dynasty then forget about calling up people from the minor leagues.
The grass and dirt do not look nearly as good as last year.
Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy and Edwar Ramirez are all generic players with their real name. Joba is skinnier than Wang.
The new pitching interface is just awful but you can still use classic mode.
The crowd just never, ever, cheers. If you a hit a home run they don't cheer when you hit it let alone cheer loud after it clears the wall.
Since I've gotten my elite 360 I've never had a game freeze, this game froze on me.
Let me put it this way, if they had an official roster update for 2k7, I'd just play that for another year. I'm pissed I wasted money on this.

Yeah I never like the 2k games. The show(PS3) is fantastic. No complaints so far at all.

So I got MLB 08 The Show for PS3 today and its pretty awesome. They don't wear caps under their batting helmets anymore so you actually see their hair when they take off the helmets which is cool. They have mariano riveras bald spot looking life like in the game. The only bad part about the game is the announcing....they pretty much just make fun of me the entire time. "This guy needs to take the blindfold off" or "he'd need to jump on a trampoline to hit that ball. YUUUUUUCK". STFU Rex Hudler before I skull you to death. At least in the 2K games Joe Morgan just tells stories like in real life about how when he played he wasn't allowed to use the white water fountain. I played the first 3 games against the Blue Jays and I am 2-1. Mo has 2 saves and I've used Joba once....so it's not like 2K games where every game is a blow out, my two wins are both saves and I don't hit 9 home runs a game like in 2K. Great game. Makes me kinda dizzy though, I dunno why, a lot of stuff is maaad blurry, maybe once I hook it up to an HD TV it will get better.

Get your sand wedge or your step ladder out.

My first 2 games were really close and now I score 15-20 runs a game, I need to get it off rookie now because I have got the hang of it.

Great game. Makes me kinda dizzy though, I dunno why, a lot of stuff is maaad blurry, maybe once I hook it up to an HD TV it will get better. As someone else said, if you're swinging at crap, they're going to make fun of you. The blurriness is because they're doing a "depth of field" thing to simulate how a camera would see a real-life game. Example: See the blurry fans back there? Yea, SCEA's just trying for that effect. Personally, I think it looks decent most of the time; but you'll come across a camera angle or cutscene every once in a while that makes it look really weird.
