I’ve done these 20 year threads about Cena, Orton, Mysterio... now it’s Lesnar’s turn.
So what’s you guys thoughts on him? Whether it’s your overall thoughts or your opinions on his current run or original run in the company?
I’d say overall he’s one of the biggest stars in history based on his mainstream status and accomplishments. The guys done too many great things in & out the company and I’ve been enjoying his recent run in the last year.

One of the all time greatest and the closest to Andre attraction wise we’ve gotten. People can complain about his booking or his limited schedule or his limited move set but the guy is once in a lifetime and hopefully he still has a few years left in him.

Absolute animal. Transcendent. BMF.
When he debuted I was 12 so I hated the bastard but he looked super legit. I didn’t need to know his backstory or him having a prior wrestling career.. I just looked at him and saw him manhandle 300+ lb guys and it was insane. Taker put him over huge and made him pretty much unstoppable to only leave about 16 months later lmao
I respect him trying the NFL and what he did in UFC. There’s not a ton of people in the world that can call their own shots and Brock’s been doing it for years now and making millions while at it.
Wrestling will lose a great attraction when he’s done

On that note I still can’t believe that it’s been 20 years since Lesnar, Rey, Orton, Cena, Batista etc debuted in WWE... crazy stuff!

Amazing wrestler in college. Below average UFC fighter. Perfect build for a VKM superstar. Below average on the mic. Had/has a good fan base. He'll go into the HOF eventually. I liked his early days much better than what he does now. Strong, agile. HATE that he wears UFC shorts in the ring and gloves ... so dumb. So dumb. His trunks figure from back in the day is one of my favorite figures. Wouldn't be the same without Heyman. And yeah ... that's Kinnikuman on Brock.

I love the fact that he serves as a link between shoot and work, kind of like when Mid-South had a ton of shooters back in the day. To have been a UFC Champion and WWE Champion, and NCAA Champion, that’s pretty awesome. I like the crazy parts of the business that are wacky works (the 24/7 rule for the WWF Hardcore Title, Mae Young’s hand, and so on), but I also like the stuff that seems sport-like. He’s definitely in that second category.

What freaks me out is Kane only debuted 5 years earlier. Mad.

They need to keep him away from the title for the foreseeable. Have him feud with different stars instead of the annual Reigns match.
Having him constantly in the title picture for the past few years has seriously exhausted his character

Huge fan of his original run from 2002-2004. Brock was just on a different level compared to everyone else which is wild when you look back and see how deep the roster was back then. His rookie year is arguably the greatest in the history of pro wrestling.
The current stint from his return in 2012 until now is more of a mixed bag. Initially, I thought the way he was used and booked was great because it did make it feel special when he actually showed up or had a match. That formula grew stale though in my opinion so there is a good stretch of years in the middle part of the decade where I couldn't care less about him. However, his most recent run in the post-pandemic world has been great. He has been able to show off way more personality which is something we've never seen from Brock and it looks like he's actually enjoying himself dare I even say having fun.
Regarding a HOF induction, it's one thing when you're competing in the ring, but good luck getting Brock to stand before a huge crowd and tell stories for a half hour. Plus, it would also require Brock actually attending the event which is usually not on his WrestleMania weekend itinerary. Only half-kidding. Who knows though? I can envision a Brock Lesnar induction speech either being a total trainwreck or the greatest thing ever. His versatility had surprised me before.

I was a big fan of his first run and I loved his return in 2012 and just about everything he did with Cena. I haven't been a big fan of his in recent years but I do appreciate that he got out of his comfort zone and put in more time on the microphone and wasn't afraid to let loose more.

One of the smartest people to ever get involved in the business. Built his star power up to astronomical levels, and became one of the biggest special attractions of all time.

Hes the total package. Hes got the look, size, speed and brings an unmatched level of authenticity to the ring. When his music hits, you know craps about to go down. His strength is borderline inhumane. The way he can pick up the likes of Big Show as if hes a cruiserweight, or when he effortlessly F5ed Otis through the announce table a few months back. There won't be another like Brock Lesnar. The closest I can think of is Roman.

One of the best of the last 20 years. Possibly one of the greatest attractions ever. He was not good on the mic, but that’s where Heyman came in and created that magic. Nobody on the current roster comes close.
Very few all-timers have arisen in the past 20 years. There’s Cena, Lesnar…and that may be it. I wouldn’t even put Orton in that category.

One of the best attractions wrestling has ever had. The crap he can do despite his size is nothing short of insane.

One of a kind. One of the best to ever do it. Just unmatched presence, power, speed, athleticism, explosivity, aggression, technique and instincts. Such a star. One of my favourite matches of all time is Brock vs Cena at Extreme Rules 2012.
We’ve seen other pro wrestlers try their hand at MMA. Batista did it for fun against a tin can. Lashley and Swagger, okay but nothing special. CM Punk, useless and humiliated by a stoned tin can. But Brock became the biggest star in UFC and was legitimate heavyweight champion. He’s been on another level since he came back to WWE after that.
I’m so glad he did his smiling cowboy stuff over the last year. It added some much needed fun and personality to his persona.
I think he was the last of the longterm huge global wrestling superstars I got to tick off my “saw them wrestle live” list, at WrestleMania 33. Hogan and Warrior are the only two I never got to add to the list, I think.

Lesnar really is one of the best to ever do it & he’s underrated & under appreciated IMO.

From his debut in 02 until 04 he was incredible!!! When he returned in 12 it was awesome but there was a major chunk in there where his matches were suplex suplex suplex F5 pin……he’s one of the very few superstars where when he comes out of the curtain, you are on your feet the entire time. He has shown range over the last few years and I think overall id rank him somewhere in the top 12-17 in WWE history as an overall superstar!

Brock overshooting that move where he flipped over the ropes and landed hard and got up and was laughing about it is still one of my favorite moments. I know that hurt like a mofo
