Howdy folks, I follow this Instagram account about Bret Hart and they recently posted this video of The Hitman punching and kicking people and it truly is remarkable just how real 99 percent of his offense looks. http://instagram.com/p/Ci2dZ9osFoh It got me thinking, is there anyone else who throws as good a looking "working" punch as Bret Hart does? Also, I hate to talk about modern wrestling, but punches and kicks these days look so damn fake! It is like throwing a real looking punch has been replaced by these horrible looking chops that I am sure hurt like hell, but they do nothing for me to add drama to a match at all as they are so overused. I am kind of surprised so many modern wrestlers go along with these chopping contests, isnt the point of wrestling to look like you are hurting your opponent when you are not? Anyway, would love to hear some thoughts on Bret Harts punches and who else you feel throws some awesome looking punches and kicks!

Taker would be my favourite, mainly from his American Bad Ass persona onwards. Even his smaller and shorter punches looked as effective as his bigger ones.
Runner up would be Lesnar.

Yeah, Bret had great punches and kicks, but then again, he did a lot of great things in the ring. Everything he did looked so real, you really believed he was legit. Jake was another one that had some great punches.
And you are right about todays wrestling, everything looks so weak. The chops are good, but they use it too much. The chopfests that go on now look ridiculous. I believe Jim Cornette talked about this on one of his podcasts recently, he was reviewing the Bryan Danielson/Chris Jericho match, and though he thought it was a good match, the one thing he did not like was the 2 minute chop fest those two got in.

Bret always made his punches and his kicks look legit real.
I agree with all the names being mentioned about being great punchers in the ring, but I have another one...
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan! When he'd fire off some big punches they looked legit and painful.

Speaking of Bret Hart, let's also talk about his suplex
I don't think any other wrestler has ever done a normal suplex like Bret Hart did. He would throw his own body in the air too with his opponent and have both come crashing down with the suplex. Very cool if you ask me! Other wrestlers would keep their feet on the ground when doing it

Bret looked legit in everything he did. So sharp in the ring.
Another I thought had a decent punch was Tito Santana. Good shoulder and forearm movement

I always liked Kevin Nash's comment about Bret's side-back breaker. He basically says that he would never let any other person under 6 feet ever try that move on him, but with Bret he didn't mind, because Bret was going to do it right every time.
