Well after ending 1995-1996 I decided to create a new thread for the 1997 PPV'S WCW won December 9-0 So WWF lead right now 8-6 in PPV'S won
Again, if you are new, you are NOT picking which PPV ended up best. You are picking on which PPV you would have picked based on the card if you only could have watched one. Price doesn't matter none of that. You can either pick the WWF card or WCW card, which one ya got
January 1997
WWF Royal Rumble
1)Hunter Hearst Helmsley (c) (with Mr. Hughes) vs Goldust (with Marlena) Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship 2) Ahmed Johnson vs Faarooq (with Clarence Mason, Crush, D'Lo Brown, J. C. Ice and Wolfie D) 3)Vader (with Paul Bearer) vs The Undertaker 4)Canek, Héctor Garza and Perro Aguayo vs Fuerza Guerrera, Heavy Metal and Jerry Estrada Six-man tag team match 5)30-man Royal Rumble match for a WWF Championship match at WrestleMania 13 6)Shawn Michaels (with José Lothario) vs Sycho Sid (c) Singles match for the WWF Championship
WCW/NWO SOLD OUT 1 Masahiro Chono (nWo) VS Chris Jericho (WCW) 2 Big Bubba Rogers (nWo) VS (WCW) (with Jimmy Hart) Mexican Death match 3 Jeff Jarrett (WCW) VS Mr. Wallstreet (nWo) 4 Buff Bagwell (nWo) vs Scotty Riggs (WCW) 5 Scott Norton (nWo) defeated Diamond Dallas Page (WCW) 6 The Steiner Brothers (WCW) (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) vs The Outsiders (nWo) (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) (c) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship 7 Eddie Guerrero (WCW) (c) vs Syxx (nWo) Ladder match for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship[2] 8 Hollywood Hogan (nWo) (c) vs The Giant (WCW) for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Royal Rumble was always my favourite PPV. This one was extra special, HBK trying to get his title back and I could not pick between Bret, Taker and Austin as the winner of the Rumble
This is an easy win for WWF for me.

Royal Rumble for me. Not too familiar with WCW around this time but 97 was a terrific year for the WWF.

From what I can remember Souled Out had the best match from either show Eddie vs Syxx but still gotta pick RR.

Not my favourite Royal Rumble by any means, but it still gets my vote.

Not one of my favorite rumbles, but the ending was great and unique so, I'll go with WWF.

Royal Rumble wins this hands down!
NWO Souled Out was horrible. And Bischoff knew that after it happened. NWO were better being on a WCW PPV, not having their own PPV with WCW talent on it

I liked Bret and Taker getting into Vince's face at the booth. You can see change on the horizon for sure and also seeds for the McMahon character And like hbkbigdaddycool said, Souled Out was atrocious. Those ''Miss NWO'' segments man what a waste of air time

Some cool stuff (in theory) from WCW here, but I gotta go WWF. Hope we see this attire someday:

One thing that I hate about Royal Rumble 1997 is that there is this annoying as hell fan that is whistling really loud, it goes right through me and is really noticeable during the HBK vs Sid match!

I will give this to the Royal Rumble, but back then the match that I was most eager to watch between both shows was the Steiners vs the Outsiders. For the WWE card all I cared about watching was the Intercontinental championship match and the Ruble itself.

This was the Rumble for me 100%. I was invested in the HBK vs Sid stuff and I was really rooting for Austin or Hart to win the RR. I also wanted to see UT vs Vader!!!
strangely as hot as WCW was? I didn't really care about Souled Out. I was starting to tune into WWF more in January 97 because I was pissed about the ending of Starrcade 96 & Piper not winning the title....BUT? I was hot for the rematch.

Wow. What a hard decision.
The main event is the only thing I could see myself caring about on the WWF card, but what a main event.
Meanwhile, more than half of the WCW card looks interesting to me. I think I would've gone WCW as the nWo angle was still red hot in my book and the undercard had some matches I cared about as well.
What a hell of a hard decision though.
