Never mind the fact that as an ultimate he barely comes with any accessories.
They reused the vest from his first elite and it doesn't even fit properly. If you you hold it there it will slowly start to move over his butterfly joint on the one side.
And worst of all, and I feel NO utlitmate should ever get this treatment, but they casted his upper body in black and painted the skin over it, which is already starting to chip away due to the constant movement of his vest.
Now some y'all will say it's just a toy, but show me a 10 year old dropping 270 on this. I'll wait.

I love it. Could have had a mullet head but it looks amazing with ultimate Shawn.

The cheapened figure is going for $150 on eBay. You could always sell him and wait for another one in the ultimate line in 2 years. Y'all taking this the wrong way. I love the figure, they just went cheap as hell making him IMHO. Okay, but you know that in a couple years they will drop him with White or Silver top. 2 vests, 2 heads, 6 hands, and a vac sealed Winged Eagle. You can get 150 now...probably 200 next year. If it's not living up to expectations you could sell it. I'm not being negative. Just saying. I love the figure...I don't know what it is..but I really love it. Eh. It's your life my good man...do you! I get it, I don't intend to sell either of my diesels that's not what this is about. Bret Hart ultimate is a good example of the differences in casted skin tones. I'm assuming the early runs were casted in skin tone and look REALLY good. Then I guess sometime around they did a running change and casted his torso in black and painted the skin on. The difference was clear as day and the painted skin tone is horrible and should never be used for a premium line. They can add all the silver they want to a potential next diesel, but if it's casted black with skin painted on, it's still not going to look what it could potentially be. |

My thoughts at the time were that they cut-back on Diesel to swift some budget over to Doink in order to make him as detailed as possible.

Early assumptions myself were the same, I was fine with what came with diesel, but then having the figure in hand and noticing the paint issues and the vest not fitting, I believe they went way to far on the cheap end. |

Do you think if it was a main release it would have been done any differently?
We got 5 exclusive pieces in that bundle ($50 per piece). Corners get cut all the time. I have him on display loose and didn’t notice any of this. I think it looks awesome especially with the hbk

Keep that black singlet body cast to the elites to save money. Premium line needs to be just that, and this diesel imo does not feel premium. |

Seriously, not including the mullet head and at least one belt was a very bad call. For an item that you have to pay 250 to get they really needed to bring it. Thankfully Doink and Savage saved the set. That Diesel was weak. Either go with the silver top with the dice designs on the pants or make the boring base figure a two in one. That’s actually a case where it would’ve worked perfectly (unlike Andre with the George Washington wig).
