How about A BAF that makes sense to the collected 4 figures. I hate that BAFs are packed with figures that I don’t want. Like a DX series collect to make a Rick Rude. Or Nwo series to build a Bischoff. A ecw set to build a Paul. Etc. Love this. |

The point of any build-a-figure is to draw us into buying four other figures. So by that logic, EVERY build-a-figure would be successful by itself. If not, they picked the wrong lynchpin.

BAFs are packaged the way they are to get people to buy figures we don’t want. Mattel’s WWE line isn’t the only one. I have a whole bunch of Marvel Legends figures I don’t want, but bought because I really wanted the BAF. The DCU Multiverse figures were even worse for that. I wanted almost none of the figures in any series. Eventually I gave up. At least Hasbro was good at putting out mostly versions I was interested in.

Literally a "Bonus" Figure. Rather have more figures made than less, even if I don't get a chance to have them.

Amen on the relevance of the figs.
I don’t need 4 absolute bangers and a desired baf, give me lesser characters or attires, just from the similar era.
Buying 3 modern and one legend for a old school baf is criminal.

Pretty much any of the ones they've made would have sole (especially short-packed), but the idea is to get people to buy 4 figures. I'm not saying I particularly like it, but that's why they exist.

I just want to see Gorilla Monsoon re-released as a BAF already! I'm surprised he hasn't been at this point with the scarcity and secondary market demand of his last figure! Hopefully the fact that they redid Mean Gene as a BAF is a good sign for this one.
I think it's a great way to get more obscure figures in the line though.
With the recent trend of every PPV set having a build a fig, this would be the PERFECT opportunity to finally get the long demanded Gobbledy Gooker in a Survivor Series set!
