i'm not sure if it was injuries, but simmons seemed to have really slowed down by 97 in comparison to his wcw years. I think it was injuries & having to change his style a bit

You know what's funny in all that, I was 15 yrs old - 18 yrs old during Sable's WWF time period there from 96 - 99, and I never once thought she was hot. She always came off as like a mother or school teacher type of woman even then.
For me, it was Sunny. She looked like the high school girl that you would see in the hallways. So the fact that Vince went for Sable over Sunny as the "hot" one is just crazy to me!

I always thought sable had a bit of a Debbie Harry look about her (not as hot as DH though) but I was sunny all the way as well!

Add another to team Sunny. That November/December’96 issue of Raw magazine was very popular in the schoolyard.😂

Watching the Attitude Era back, you can keep Sunny and Sable. I’d take Chyna as my dommy mommy.

Sable....still nuts to think that in 99 (3 years after she debuted) only Austin & Undertaker were the only ones on more $$$ than her.
Had her ego not completely out of hand? Lord knows what her limit would have been in showbiz...because like her or not? She was crazy over. Colossal part of Vinces success.
Man I love when Cornette vents about her 🤣🤣

I still own it and I joked with my girlfriend the other night how I should pay tribute to it with an old school "session" while looking at the pictures. My girlfriend goes, "do you think photos of a girl you enjoyed in your teenage years could still get ya there now if you look at them??" To me, that is a challenge accepted! Ha ha ha

To join in the whole Sable and Sunny debate, I am like Tommy Dreamer, I am hardcore, I can take both Let me tell you those RAW magazines during this time with their photospreads were a major highlight of my teenage years! Also, to not completely make this post in the gutter, it really does suck the way things turned out for Vader! The video packages before the Rumble were great and made me think we were getting monster, Vader! Then he gets dumped out by HBK with no effort at all in the actual Rumble. It is a pity Bret took time off when he did as I said on here before, I think Bret could have brought out the monster in Vader much better than Shawn Michaels did. Had Bret stayed, have Vader and Bret feud while Shawn and Davey are going at it and then Vader could have become the number one contender for SummerSlam by beating Bret at King of the Ring or something like that.

As Austin said to Foley " Jesus Christ they got Leon bumping like a pinball for Shawn...all he has to do is lose 200lbs to be able to pull that off"
Prichard seems to dodge truth about Vader...says his heart wasnt in it blah blah blah......JR seems to say his weight and unwillingness to get in shape was factor for why he didnt get on well...
But neither of the above explain why Vader was turned into a cowardly heel at his size. Its mind boggling seeing him run all the time..... Then you look at Halls last match on PPV for WWF he nearly effin beats Vader( Vinces new top heel) while Vince creams himself over RR. Vader had no chance.

Once Vader went from one of the top heels in wrestling to the villain of the month for Hulkamania to steamroll he was doomed. Should have been in the spot Vince gave Sid. Have Vader beat Shawn at Summerslam and then Shawn win it back at the Rumble. Then should have had him defending against Taker at 13.

Sids huge surge in popularity def hurt Vader too....no doubt about it. Sid beating him at Buried Alive was all she wrote for Leon in WWF. It was clear then Vince had no intention of using him...despite a resurgence in his booking in early 97 it still was never gonna happen.

Have Vader beat Shawn at Summerslam and then Shawn win it back at the Rumble. Then should have had him defending against Taker at 13. That was supposed/rumored to be the case. Vader was supposed to win the belt from Shawn at the Survivor Series 1996 then lose it back to HBK at RR97. Had that happened, chances are he would have been in Sid's spot to win the belt from Bret on Raw after the fatal four-way, which most likely would have meant him vs Taker at WM13. But, after Vader's match with HBK at Summer Slam 96, Shawn complained to Vince about Vader (not being safe, not ready for the spot) so Vince moved the returning Sid (who Shawn liked working with) into Vader's spot.

Actually if I had the book, Mankind would have beat Shawn at Survivor Series and then I would have had Undertaker return at the Rumble and win. But I guess will Shawn/Bret 2 being the original plan, that wouldn’t work.
