Who are some wrestlers you expected to be bigger? Like you would tell your friends "This person is gonna be huge! Just wait!"
For me, Matt Morgan. When he came in at Survivor Series 2003 I was convinced I was looking at the next star to carry us into the future. The next Brock Lesnar.
Kenny Dykstra. I LOVED Spirit Squad and thought he had tons of potential to be the next Randy Orton.
Sean O'Hare. I don't even know how or why they messed this one up. He was so so so cool!!!!!!!!

I stand by that he should have beaten Punk in the Hell in a Cell.

Ultimo Dragon Nathan Jones
I never expected Ultimo Dragon to be a big deal in WWE, I don't know why. I liked him, but I always felt like I knew what his ceiling was going to be in the company.
I did think Nathan Jones would have been bigger. I do wonder if he stuck around where he would have ended up.

Ted Dibiase Jr. sure stands out. There was talk for a while that he should end Takers streak when he was coming up.
Carlito is another. Guy debuts and instantly wins the US Title, how many times has that happened? Thought for sure he would make a great foil for Cena's future WWE Title runs given their history with Carlitos debut but it just never happened. Even in Summer '07 when the roster was razor thin with talent.

Oh, I fully bought in on Ted Dibiase Jr! I was a huge fan! I wanted him to win the Legacy triple threat at Mania so bad!
I LOVED Carlito! Little me, thought Carlito was the best wrestler alive! I bought every figure, every shirt! Loved him!

Wade Barrett Matt Morgan Ted Dibiase JR Chris Masters Gail Kim Damien Sandow
I feel like most of these just had bad timing in the company. If Gail Kim would have been in her prime around 10 years later she would be killing it right now. Same goes for Sandow, Barrett and Morgan IMO. They all debuted at a weird time and fell on their face due to Vince or creative not working out.

Chris Masters came in SO hot but then lost to HBK and never recovered I think they lost faith in him too cause he kept getting busted for wellness. They even had to fire him at one point and bring him back.

I felt sure of this at the time. They built him up as a Goldberg type unbeatable wrecking ball, but then his first ever competitive match, he lost. It killed him. However, in retrospect, they knew he was a weirdo long before we did. He was never going to be the guy to carry a company, so sacrificing him for the sake of Punk, then sacrificing him again the next month for the Shield debut, then again for Mark Henry etc was the right move.
