Still scratching my head at this one almost 25 years later. He was fine in the booth as pro WCW but nope they had to turn em heel.Plus a guy like Scott Hall didnt need a mouthpiece.
Plus to top it off it would lead to him being ''fired''late in the year by Bischoff making it all the more pointless.
More shock value for the sake of it...

Feels like most of the NWO jumps were pointless and really just done for the shock value. Really just bad booking and nothing else with Dusty.

IIRC this was a Bischoff and Hall decision. Why they thought he needed to be in their biggest angle at that stage of his career is beyond me.
Its like Sting joining the red and black that year. Made no damn sense at all

Didn't Hall suggest it cause Dusty helped him early in his career and the same with the Zbyszko match at Souled Out?

Yeah Hall was the main driving force behind it.Like I said though he didnt need a mouthpiece so I dont see the need in the turn. I get the connection between the two but still unnecessary.

Yeah would have been nice if the members could have stayed at Hogan/Hall/Nash only adding maybe 2 or 3 more members.

I can see them adding a lot since in kayfabe they were in a ''war'' with the bigger WCW. But man some of the additions like this one just made ya go''what the hell were they thinking?'' My fav time of the NWO angle was those early months.Truly must see TV.

The only thing I liked about nWo Dusty was that sweeeeeeeeet red jacket he started wearing. I asked Cody on Twitter once what had happened to that jacket, and he thought it was sold.

Scott Hall pushed for it, because he loved Dusty and wanted to get him a bigger role on tv.

And thanks to WCW/NWO Revenge on the Nintendo 64, this is immortalized lol.
Was a really weird thing like others had said, but I must admit seeing him with Hall was something I thought was pretty cool.

Dusty Rhodes wanted to get over again in his career so why not join the NWO then, right?? But honestly, it was dumb. Dusty as a heel?? No thanks. I never saw his Outlaws days with Dick Murdoch but his baby face solo run was so good. Though, it can be argued he stole THunderbolt Patterson's style of talk and gimmick and made it his own to get over. A lot of wrestlers aren't fans of Dusty Rhodes compared to the actual "mark" fans. So it should come as no surprise Duty went heel in 1998 to be a part of the NWO to get that fame and money again.

Revenge actually had a decent list of managers: Eric Bischoff Vincent Dusty Rhodes Rick Rude Jimmy Hart Sonny Ono Miss Elizabeth Kimberly Page Will never forget if you plugged an extra controller into the third slot on the N64 you could actually control the manager and just endlessly kick people in the balls with Miss Elizabeth.
