Hey all,
Is the head on the Survivor Series Hogan figure removable without going to extreme measures? And if so, do Ultimate heads fit on that body?
Also, I still haven’t gotten the Elite 96 War Bonnet figure. I’m eager to get that figure just for the head sculpt and bandana. Is that ever going to be available at Target? If so, why does it take so long for a place like Target to get them in?
Thanks!

You have to put the SS Hulk Hogan in boiling water to remove the head.

Retail distribution is always weird. They may get that wave but sometimes they’ll skip waves and you’ll have to check Walmart and Amazon too. Ringside gets stuff months before retail and that’s why it’s more expensive. Also it’s a niche hobby and they’re a small business trying to make a profit. If you really want something and don’t want to risk missing it at retail, ringside is the best bet. People may say “so and so gets them early too.” Yeah well it’s not their website/forums so you’ll have to do some research for that.

Yeah, you have to heat SS Hogan's head in some manner..heating a small cup of water using the beverage setting on my microwave works fine for me. Anyway, i did try putting a UE13 head on SS Hogan but felt that the head was a bit large for the body. At least it seemed that way to me. Skin tones matched up though.

I don't have any pics, but I easily removed the SS Hulk Hogan head by applying heat from the hair dryer to it. Held the figure under the hair dryer for a few minutes at a time. Did this 3 or 4 times, then popped the head off. I also used one of the extra UE13 Hogan heads and put that on the body. Looks good to me.

Good to know that it worked so well!

Removable heads on all elites was a brilliant idea. It was one of them obvious ideas I never thought of. I hope it’ll be standard on basics, too.

I’m wondering, do I even need to put the new Elite 96 Hogan head on an Ultimate 13 body? They look pretty close as far as mass/girth. Is the height different?
If they’re close enough size wise, I’ll just put the belt and HULK RULES shirt on the Elite 96 for my early ‘90s HULK RULES era.
But if there is enough difference in size between the Ult. 13 and the Elite 96, I will make the switch.

I had to boil/pop the Survivor Series Elite Hogan head to get it off the body; glad the E96 Hogan head came off with no effort. Now, to get both heads on the UE13 Hogan body was a slight chore. Both heads sit high on the neck peg (this will not be the issue with the Amazon UE Hogan). I had to Dremel both Elite heads out, close to the top, to create room for the longer peg clearance. The results... I absolutely dig. =D

Are the bodies truly that different?

Are the bodies truly that different? Oh yeah. I always felt the Elite body was a bit short. I've used the UE13 Hogan for any representation of red/yellow Hogan of the mid-late 80s. Amazon UE Hogan is for 1993 Hogan, due to his leaner build. If ya want, when I get home from Target/Walmart hunting, I can compare a shirtless side-by-side comparison of Elite Hogan VS UE13 Hogan.

I have the Survivor Series Elite Hulk leaning with his iconic hand to ear pose. Since he’s not standing straight up like my Ultimate 13s are, it’s tough to tell. If you have the chance, I’d appreciate it a lot if you can do that comparison. Thanks!
