Howdy folks,
been a while since we did one of these and I think I have a pretty fun one for us. Your four favorite wrestling toys, but the twist is you cannot pick an action figure or a video game!
This was actually way harder than I thought it would be, but I did manage to come up with four that I had a ton of fun with as a kid.
WWF Electronic Pinball Machine
I have a pretty ridiculous collection of these table top pinball machines in my attic and they all pretty much play the same way. However, the art on the WWF one is freaking awesome and I wish I still had the box for it. I remember buying this with some birthday money in 1991 and I would play it for ages, trying to get the highest score. There were only four targest you could hit, like most of these pinball machines, but I still had a lot of fun with it. They would release more WWF pinball machines over the years including an awesome one that had these mini figures attached to it which came out during the Attitude Era.
WWF Superstars LCD Game
As a kid I had this and the Royal Rumble LCD game, but I much preferred this one. It is as basic as you can get like all LCD games, but it was still a lot of fun. You play as Hulk Hogan and you have to defeat the five heels to win the title. Hulk looks great, but all the enemies look the same expect the little character icon at the top of the screen. I remember Christmas 1991, I tried to make a joystick out of Meccano and Lego that I could turn this into a mini arcade machine with! As you would expect it did not work!
WWF Wrestling Tops Game
I remember seeing this pilled about ten feet high in Woolworths back in the 1991/1992! On the surface, this looks like a piece of crap and it is pretty much a plastic tray and that is it. However, I spent hours and I mean hours playing with this thing! You got six little spinning tops, each one had a wrestler on it. You would spin them and the last one standing was the winner. I would have my own little fed with this thing where I kept track of the win and loss records of each wrestler. I even made extra tops (bits of paper with a wrestler's logo on them) that I would stick with Blu Tac to the top so I could have more wrestlers.
Ultimate Warrior Bop Bag
Who didn't have a bob bag as a kid? I certainly had a few of them over the years, but this Ultimate Warrior one is the one that I have the fondest memories of. It had an awesome picture of The Warrior on it and I beat the hell out of this thing, so much so that my dad had to repair it at least five times as it kept getting damaged from the extreme beating I was giving it!
that is my four, I would love to read about wrestling related toys that you had fun with as a kid
