So I am sure most of you heard that Kevin Nash's son, Tristen, died at age 26 on what looks to be Scott Hall's birthday. I can only imagine what Kevin is going through right now, and I am sure it's not good. He definitely needs all the positive vibes headed his direction. So I thought of this thread. If the universe works in weird ways, maybe our positive words can get to him in some weird, cosmic way.
Everyone always jokes about his quad tear, and talks about how the finger poke of doom destroyed WCW. But let's not talk about that stuff.
What is some stuff that you guys enjoyed about Nash's career over the years of watching him compete. Whether it be Master Blaster, Oz, Vinnie Vegas, my personal favourite, "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel or "Big Sexy - The Giant Killer" or right to just being "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash.
What are some favourite matches?? Let's be honest, Nash could have a good match. We all seen the matches he had with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Razor Ramon over the years.
Me personally?? I just thought that Diesel was the coolest when I was 13 and 14 years old. He just came off so chill. I loved his Royal Rumble 95 match with Bret Hart, and his Wrestlemania XI match with Shawn Michaels.
So feel free to say positive things about Big Kev and let's hope that he's doing well right now with everything that's going on in his personal life.

Such sad news to hear, no one should have to lose a child.
I am a huge Kevin Nash fan, his run as Diesel was something that I really enjoyed and I have always felt that he was severely underrated as an in-ring performer. I would go as far as to say he is one of the better big men of all time! His stuff with Bret Hart is some of my favorite in WWF history, those two had phenomenal chemistry together and never had a bad match or interaction. I would easily pick Bret as his best opponent, he gave The Undertaker his first great WrestleMania match and he has far more good matches to his name than people give him credit for.
Then when he went to WCW and was one of the leaders of the NWO I was a huge fan too, Big Sexy Kevin Nash was just the coolest and he was probably my favorite guy during the whole rise of WCW. I was even a huge fan when he went back to the WWE. I have said this before, but I honestly feel that he should have taken the title off Triple H, even if it was just for a month. People love to complain about the "reign of terror" however, his feud with Kevin Nash was something I enjoyed immensely and I feel if they had put the title on Nash even for just one PPV and then he woudl have lost it the next would have made it even better.

Agreed about taking the belt off Triple H in 2003. If he won it at Judgment Day and lost it 3 weeks later at Bad Blood, that would have been okay. It would have broken up that horrible long reign of Triple H dominating until Goldberg at Unforgiven in September.

RIP Tristan.
As for Nash: Men wanted to be him. Women wanted to be with him. Too kool 4 skool. I also believe he should have beat Hunter for the belt on 03. I would have had him win it at Backlash then drop it back to Triple H at Hell in a Cell

For me Outsiders was the 1st heels I cheered, I was strictly on the babyface side but loved Hall & Nash.

Sad to hear, and that it happened on his best friend's birthday, that has to be doubly painful. As for his wrestling years, I was a fan of Diesel's. He wasn't the best in-ring guy, but how many really are 5-star type performers. One of the things I liked about wrestling in the 80s and 90s was the fact that you had different body types, and wrestlers. Not every wrestler performed the same scripted match, it felt more real back then. Diesel was good as champion, not great. It would have been better if he was more like the character he became after Survivor Series 95 thru most of his WCW run. He had some good matches in the WWF, but like hbkjason, I think his best opponent was Bret Hart. All four of their PPV matches were really good, but I think the Survivor Series match was their/his best. He also worked great with HBK and Razor, my favorite match of his with HBK is the one at IYH: Good Friends, Better Enemies. My favorite match with Razor is the one at Summer Slam 1994. And also, like hbkjason said, Diesel did give Undertaker his best WrestleMania match up to that point (WM12, 1996). You also can't sleep on the fact that him and Hall jumping to WCW and forming the NWO, helped rejuvenate the wrestling industry. Not everything was great, but that first year/year and a half of the NWO was must see, and he was a big part of that.

His Diesel run is my fav from his career. The matches he had with Bret are timeless. Def will stand the test of time.I also have a soft spot for Vinnie Vegas. You could tell he had fun playing that character.
Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family during this very difficult time.RIP Tristen

A real fun Diesel match was his match with Bam Ban Bigelow on Raw in 1995. Almost makes ya think it should have been a main event match at a PPV more so than a match on Raw at the time.

Cant have a big Kev thread without some Diesel Power!!!
Kevin just said on Kliq This podcast that he did a video for George Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" song because that was supposed to be his theme song. Then Vince found out how much it was going to be to use that song constantly so they stopped that and came up with the Diesel theme which sounds like the opening to Roseanne in the later seasons of that TV show ha ha ha so good!

Yeah, he should have gotten the big main event push instead of Mabel. After WM11, have everyone pick on him because he lost to a football player, have that include the Kliq members. Then let Bam Bam attack those guys (Razor, HBK, 123 Kid), among other good guys, and leave them laying. Then have him steamroll through the King of the Ring tournament to win it, which would make him the #1 contender for Diesel's title at Summer Slam.

The promos between Diesel and Steve Austin alone would be amazing to see. Plus that would be a great physical fight between the two. Wouldn't be a pretty match, but make it a No DQ style match and you have a main event match!

I remember back in 92 my granny lived in a different region and would get WCW. She used to tape it for me when I was going up to visit. That was my first exposure to Nash as Vinnie Vegas. Actually thought he was good in the ring and what a catchy tune it was as well.
93 I was going off the rails a bit and part of the punishment my mother dished out was that I wasn’t allowed to watch tv. I missed a bit of 93 wrestling but always remember when the ban was lifted there was a Shawn Michaels match and there was Vinnie Vegas at ringside. I was so excited and at the time had no idea of the wrestling intricacies of the time (not acknowledging wrestlers pasts etc) was pretty confused that they kept calling VV Diesel.
His dominant performance in the Royal Rumble sticks out as well.

The first live WWF show I went to, Diesel and Razor had a match for the IC title (summer 1994, just before Summer Slam). I don't remember much from the match, but I do remember the fans were heavily behind Razor. My brother was a huge Diesel fan, at one point in the match diesel was beating down Razor, he then looked to the crowd who were booing him unmercifully, however my Brother stood up and cheered, Diesel saw him and acknowledged the cheer by pointing at him and shaking his head yes! That was a cool moment.

That is absolutely horrific for Nash. RIP Tristen... his wife was pregnant with him when he made to jump back to WCW too. Aww man. Absolutely terrible.
Big fan of Nashs work...
Vs Razor @ SSlam 94 vs Bret @ Survivor Series 95 vs UT @ WM12 vs HBK @ IYH Good Friends
are some of my favorite matches. Not often I agree with Pritchard nowadays but Jesus they fudged his face run terribly. They stopped have him do all the stuff that made the fans cheer him in the 1st place....he was so over.
Then you have his tweener run from Nov 1995 to when he turned heel on HBK after WM12...for its time? that was some groundbreaking stuff.
nWo...man over like crazy. I always remember watching HH96 and the fans were clearly rooting for the Outsiders over Harlem Heat. Over like crazy during the Wolfpac run too....most popular guy on the roster Id say. even moreso than Goldberg
I enjoyed his 2003 run(pity he got wrecked in 02) and like you guys I would have liked to see him beat HHH then drop it back in HIAC.

I have fantasy booked this on here and it was a fun thread. I had a few saying Bam Bam wasnt over enough...but feed him the right guys and book him right, he would have been over huge as a heel. Sid was getting beat clean in the ME of Raw in Sept 1995 by HBK. Bit of a rebuild in the Summer of 1996? he was a legit title contender again and took Vaders place. Its all doable.
