theres already a LONG waiting list, but forbiddenfigures makes the best figure belts on the market They just announced today on Instagram they’re closing shop due to people complaining about unfulfilled orders, update on orders ect.. said it’s to much volume for two people to handle.

Yep. She is indeed ... just one person. She has someone else run the website, package/send orders, etc. but she does all the design and painting by herself all day long. She also has a 4 yo daughter, me as an annoying co-parent, and lives between Brooklyn and Rhode Island. She also had COVID recently. It's just too much for her. She plans to just focus on small runs of one belt (100 or so) a month perhaps for those who want to buy them. But the site and its massive inventory became overwhelming. Too much for one person to do. It's probably the same sort of thing Chella and Zombie are running into. People think of these places as serious businesses (like a Super7 for example), when they're actually just dedicated, talented people working out of their homes. I'm sure someone else will come along to fill the void, but no one will make belts as good as hers.

Those first year 1/1000 belts had that kind of material.

Luckily we are finally getting custom sideplates, so there are improvements being made. But I would love to see "ultimate edition" belts as well, perhaps made with metal and pleather. They would be perfect to really take the appeal of Ultimate Edition figures to the next level.

Those first year 1/1000 belts had that kind of material. The Jakks ones were pretty cool. I remember I had a ECW belt, not sure what happened to it. I'm personally not a fan of the one piece belts. It works in some cases like the Daniel Bryan/Hardcore belts because they were not shiny. Now other belts like the one Rollins had, it looks too flat and dull. They sit nicely on the waist, but other than that they just don't do it for me.

I honestly expected it to happen & surprised it didnt happen sooner which is why I placed an order 6-8 months ago. The work she does is absolutely great. I love the two belts I have & Ive got 6 more on the way eventually but you could tell last year when the 6 month wait was actually a 7-8 month wait that things were about to steam roll further. I dont agree with blowing up emails/DMs asking about orders but I do see both sides of it. FF gives fairly regular updates about where the wait is currently but I also see as a consumer you dont like dropping $100-$200 on something and having to wait half the year for it. There's some great artists out there whether its belts, heads, customs, decals, clothing whatever but they all seem to hit the same plateau...They have great ideas but their business model is flawed and they get overwhelmed before eventually flaming out. Hopefully she continues in some way, even if its in a smaller batch. I really wanted to get an order in on the AWA World & Tag Titles as well as the IWGP V1 but now looks like Ill be looking for a new belt maker for those.

i know these are just "toys" but the overall design and feel of most of mattel's belts has been wrong forever
a lot of them are too short meaning they dont fit on larger waists. a lot of them have the plastic front "plates" too large so they look bulky and awkward. i've always despised the "pin"-hole way to connect it too, so many of them dont fit right
the Attitude Era WWF Championship is actually one of the best overall belts mattel has made
i wish more than anything they could be different, but what we are getting is clearly the cheapest/most effective option

My first, because I had just discovered their work. I saw the post today and so glad I placed the order. I believe they said all existing orders will be fulfilled and was almost completed anyway. If true, that is a much faster turnaround time then I expected when placing the order! I can also totally understand how it is not worth it. Sure, money may be good, but toy collectors when getting a custom are a bunch of Karens

I’ve always found it odd, that the company that produces millions of 1:64 scale die cast cars, hasn’t figured out how to make or include die cast belts for figures… (and I don’t count those 1 of 1000 things). Think a series with Diecast belts (Metal) would sell extremely well. Maybe a “Ultimate edition metal” series or something… I’d buy them and I’m a MOCer! Lol Reading through this thread and this was going to be my response until I read yours. I want to say that Jakks years ago put out a version of the NWA title with their Jeff Jarrett figure (and maybe more I just can't remember as I never collected them, but I remember Jarrett vividly) that was diecast. One of the nicest looking belts I've ever seen for a wrestling figure. I'm sure it's probably not cost effective currently, but even one of those belt packs like Mattel released a couple of years ago through Ringside, but with diecast titles.

I know the Rock has his side plates on the Big Scratch Belt, and Brock has his side plates on the Undisputed WWE Universal Belts, but are there more!?
