I never grew up in the era with Doink, I was a late Attitude Era/RA era kid. My first time seeing the "character" was Jericho actually dressing as him to attack William Regal and I always thought it was so cool. Then you had him at the Gimmick Battle Royal at Wrestlemania and I loved it.
His Classic Superstars figure (the first one) was one of the best figures Jakks ever made and I had that, loved it. I would make him do surprise run ins when I was playing with my figures to spray water and trip people up.
I'll admit to not seeing a lot of Doink, but only in Wrestling would a clown character have worked so well.

Doink the Clown is one of the great characters that ever got made in wrestling. Had Matt Bourne not been a total nutcase, it would have been a great foil for years. I could only imagine Doink clowning and playing mindgames on the Undertaker. Even after Bourne, he was still pretty funny
