How did the WWE Women's Division go from cookie-cutter models to women of different looks, body types and characters?

So taking this question somewhat seriously, because at this point it,I don’t think the womens division has ever been “cookie cutter.” Yes, there was a period where the division focused more on sex appeal but it was headlined by actual talented women. And it’s been that way for nearly 25 years. Women like Sable, Jacqueline, Ivory, Chyna, Trish, Lita, Mickie, Victoria, Michelle McCool, Nikki Bella, the Four Horsewomen and beyond. The booking changed sure and hiring Sara and Finlay to train the next generation of women definitely helped.

With the exception of just a few women in the company, the WWE still makes them dress and do their make-up in outlandish looks. Outside of Joshi Japan, no female should look the way they make women like Shotzi, Candice, Liv, Alexa, Asuka, Sasha, Bayley, Dakota Kai, Gigi, Iyo, Naomi, and Rhea look. Whoever is in charge of costumes needs a serious talking to. They're wrestlers, not dolls.
And I bet that same person is in charge of how stupid the Miz looks lol. Enough with the neon and crazy make-up already. BUT at least it's not the T&A fest it was back in the day.

Yeah the guy who has an outspoken hatred of women has an opinion we should listen to……
