We talk a lot about the best and greatest. What about the fellas that were treated like main event talent, rubbed shoulders with the big dogs, to see it all go away for one reason or another. WWF edition, who goes on Mount Bustmore?

Vader- Awesome in WCW and Japan. WWF whole different story. HBK being the culprit here
Luger-Ton of potential with the Narcissist gimmick all thrown away because Vince wanted another Hogan.
Taz-Awesome debut at Rumble 00.All downhill afterward. Feuding with Boss Man and entering the Hardcore Title ranks SMDH. Nail in the coffin was losing to Trips in Philly as ECW Champ
Scott Steiner- Awesome comeback at SSeries 02. Pop was HUGE. Then the feud with Trips happened which stunk up the place. Never recovered after that

Sting Lex Luger Vader Scott Steiner
Those four are the perfect example how WCW did wonders with them and the WWF did absolutely nothing with them.

Lex Luger: This is coming from someone that is a huge Luger fan too! He looked like such a freaking moron during his All American run. Not just the celebration after SummerSlam 93, but his feud with Dibiase too! He should have been the one to join the corporation, a heel Luger being a challenger for Diesel in 95 would have been fun.
Vader: I feel that Vader came in too late. Of course, we all know that HBK spoiled things here, I think had Bret been around that he and Vader would have gelled much better and he would have made him look more like a monster.
Alberto Del Rio: I can hand on heart say that Alberto Del Rio is my least favorite WWE champion and main event talent of all time. Not just because of what a piece of garbage human being he is. He flat out sucked! He had zero charisma, had boring match after boring match yet the WWE pushed him to the moon, they gave him every chance to get over and he failed each and every time. He is close to the top of my list of least favorite wrestlers of all time.
Ahmed Johnson: This is a tough one as I was a huge fan of his once he came into the WWF, I thought for sure he was going to be huge. Was he the best in the ring? No, but he had an intensity and the "it" factor that made me want to watch him. I was thrilled when he won the IC title and thought this was the start of a very long career! Of course, injuries probably play a huge part in things, but by all accounts he did not have a good attitude backstage.

Dr Death--- Rumor was he was going to feud with Austin?
Vader--Would have been a better fit in say 93-94
Taz- Just listen to the pop he had at Rumble, also have Angle his first loss if I recall, all downhill from there
NWO--just bad timing, politics, it was just not good

Didn't Kurt say that Tazz hurt him during the choke out and that immediately led to Tazz being labeled unsafe? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I think he complained to the office that Taz almost dropped him on his head doing one of his suplexes, it has been said that that hurt Taz in the eyes of the company.

Loved the interactions these 2 had in 97. Shame they never had a proper one on one feud together

Taz, Raven, Scott Stiener (02 return), DDP.
DDP's run in 2002 up to Wrestlemania 18 was fine, but I'm talking the whole stalking Sara stuff. Tazz and Raven had a few good matches each, but they were totally ruined in WWF. Scott Stieners run in 2002/3 was absolutely brutal.

Im going to try to skip out on guys like DDP and Sting while they had rough go's in WWE, they also had one foot out the door into retirement as well. So I'd like to think some of their booking of choice was because they didnt get them a few years earlier (in Sting's case a decade earlier).
To me these guys blew their shot and wasted the opportunity given most.
