I went down a prototype rabbit hole for old jakks TTL - which is my nostalgia style
I remember how much I wanted like a Dean Malenko or Linda McMahon - but I’m curious you don’t really see these proto types around, like you do RA test shots and protos - it makes me wonder if they exist anymore
I know there are a few Linda’s out there. But I’m really curious on what happened to the others like RTC Val venis, Malenko/ perry in black, gangrel, funaki, Jeff Jarrett, Stephanie McMahon etc
Did they ever end up in collectors hands - or are they the new holy grails to pop up years later like hasbro Greg Valentine

A few Linda’s turned up, and someone had The back alley Shawn stasiak head sculpt here
I’ve also seen the TTL Bulldog head, unreleased Bradshaw head and a solid collection of test shots for TTL 1/ -DS1 and unreleased stomp series, and toy fair Jim Ross/ jerry Lawler
But that’s all I have ever seen - you would think with how popular wwf was at the time someone would have kept some prototypes but they are still hidden away

the TTL Bulldog in jeans turned up. Ironically the guy was suspended for posting it at first, until they realized it was the actual Jakks designer who created the thing lol.
he had a bunch of random Jakks clay protoypes he was getting rid of

I never seen that headless Vince show up. I know I was really looking forward to the Then and Now sets. Especially the Triple H one. That never got released although they eventually made an RA styled one in the CS line.

Out of interest what was the Perry Saturn in black? Don't remember seeing a photo of that.

Original rotr 3 proto But there was a big rumour on a radicals boxset - so you would think this dean/Saturn - probably the Wmx7 Eddie - and whatever Benoit - figurezone (which was known to stretch the truth) had said it was cancelled around spring 2001

I always wanted a 1999 Stephanie McMahon when she was courted by Test. I saw a prototype. Has anyone seen that one turn up?

I would love to know if the original Rock & Triple H from the Then and Now set they were gonna do made it into a collectors hands.

The TTL Rocky Maivia prototype has definitely floated around collections for years. Here are a couple of past eBay listings: www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/unreleased-jakks-wwf-now-rocky-rock-1853938578www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/rocky-maivia-rock-prototype-wwe-wwf-480071968I haven’t seen the HHH for sale, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it still exists in some form.

That's pretty neat that it's out there somewhere in somebody's collection. The TTL era is such a unique time for me as it's when I really started being a fan and playing with figures so I have nothing but good memories of the line. Nice to see there's still hardcore collectors of the line out there.

He does a really great job. Her and Test together was my favorite story of that year. I'd love a Mike McGuirk too since she was 80's glam encapsulated

That would've been just members making crap up, which was so absurdly common back in the AFR days. I remember one of the main guys there had this whole elaborate story and post about finding ROTR3 only to then add in a twist it the end that this was just a cautionary tale about "no pics, no proof" (IE not to believe people who claim they find/see stuff without actual picture proof). it's incredible how far things have come, as a kid to have the ability to check online if my local store had stuff in stock would've been insane - do you know how many times I got misled by a TRU/KB employee over the phone that they had something in stock and it was the wrong series!

Just relived the pain of painstakingly going through massive bins of figures at TRU looking for that Stephanie, and not understanding how she wasn't there.

It saddens me that Malenko figure was never released.

For me it was a KB Toys, but I literally bugged the crap out of the workers begging them to see if they had any in the back and they never did. And yeah. Never understood WHY.
