Storm should stick to animated characters. Their wrestlers are straight doo doo.
The newest ultimate Hogans literally destroy the storm hogans Negan style, and the storm cost more at one point.

Im hoping Storm makes some more wrestling figures. Road Warriors, Hyabusa, Tiger Mask, etc would all look amazing in the Storm style. But with them going retailer exclusive for NA this year,i guess it depends on if this Suzuki release was some kind of way they were able to bypass the retailer exclusivity or them just following through on something that was started before the retailer exclusive deal.

They are fairly close in looks and quality from what I have experienced. The Storm figure also came out what 4 or 5 years ago? I would hope that any company would be able to improve in that time. I will say that the Suzuki isn’t really an improvement with the body sculpt. To be fair, Mattel has made a lot of improvements over time (but still have a ways to go in some very simple to fix areas).

The kids toy outshines the premium adult collector figure by miles imo. The stupid cheap crotch piece is atrocious and from the looks, they haven't improved 1 bit from it. I bought storms Hogan because he was gone from WWE. It was the only decent looking 6 inch Hogan figure until Hogan came back. Now I had to sell my storm Hogan for 20 bucks to my buddy to get rid of it. New/old means nothing, because storms Mortal Kombat outclasses the McFarlane line, not by a hole lot but it does, and both line area still produced. Premium is ALWAYS supposed to be better than the ones for kids, it's what gets it it's price tag. If you factor in inflation, the storm Hogan would be 70 today instead of 50, Ultimate Hogan 13 is 35 bucks after taxes and has a lot more accessories, and ALSO looks miles better for a kids figure. Storm has their place in the figure would, just not wrestling. Same goes with the shf, those are worse than storms.

Sounds like you chose to get rid of it by selling it for whatever you thought was fair to charge a friend. The crotch piece can be annoying but the skin tone and accessories on the Storm figure hold up. Their heads are better than some of his Mattel figures including the Ultimates but that has a matter of opinion. As far as price goes, I bought mine from RSC for $35. Calling an Ultimate a kids toy is fine but the average child is not their target market for that line. Mattel is also a considerably larger company with many resources that Storm might not have. At the end of the day, Storm primarily deals with niche markets whereas Mattel is mainstream with a far bigger reach. Their ability to sell it for less makes perfect sense. It’s basic economics.

I sold it for 20 bucks loose just to get rid of it. Once the ultimates came in, it was kind of an eye sore. It was either package it up or sell it. The crotch piece wasn't my only gripe about it, everytime I tried to pose it, either his head popped off and was a pita to put back on, or his chest and or lower torso came undone to. It's just a brittle figure imo. Don't get me started on the weight belt either lol. Until ultimates are stocked in the adult/collectible aisle, it will still be a kids toy at the end of the day. Storm is known for perfection for the adult collector, And while the hogans were okay at 1 point, they are not the defacto today. You might feel storm looks better, and that's fine, and yes that's a matter of opinion but here a fact... One of these hogans looks like Hogan, and the other one looks like his stunt double in a movie. At the end of the day if you prefer storm, cool, I ditched them first chance I got once the superior hogans came out (imho of course)

I dont think the UE Hogans blow away the Storm Hogans like you mentioned. But I do think Mattel's recent Hogans have made those Storm Hogans a little less neccessary and relevant as far as having a good looking Hogan one's collection. Still a good looking figure, imo.

I guess classic case of 1st impression is everything. Still not gonna buy anymore storm wrestlers, as I don't see their worth. Outside looking in, storm is definitely better than jakks and early Mattel hogans, but I think Mattel has the crown now for the foreseeable future.

Don’t any of us dare try to change the opinion of the humble man above me with your “facts” and “photographic evidence.”

Don’t any of us dare try to change the opinion of the humble man above me with your “facts” and “photographic evidence.” You took it a hole nother direction it didn't need to be, brother. This is all subjective here. I'm not here to change anyone's opinion, I said what I said, and it is what it is.

Not sure what the debate is.
At one point, it's impossible to dispute the Storm Hogans were better than Mattel's Hogans.
Right now, Mattel has closed the gap on Storm with the 2022 Hogans. Arguably, they've slightly surpassed them with some.

Arguably, they've slightly surpassed them with some. I was mostly having fun earlier. Some of the Hogan sculpts from Mattel have been as good or slightly better than Storm’s. However, it’s such a back and forth over who is better. It’s hard to say Mattel’s heads are worse as they have so many to choose from. Not all of them capture his likeness but Storm really only has the one for red and yellow hulk. Storm wins in the skin color category but loses in the arms which appear bloated and cartoonish. I much prefer the look of Storm’s legs and crotch piece (lol). Many Mattel figures feel as though their trunks are too high up. Not everyone has long dancer’s legs! The chest is a bit of a wash. I prefer the definition of Mattel’s but hate the disruption of the torso. Storm has it too but it is slightly more even. Accessories are mostly given to Mattel. I wish Storm had better hands and maybe tried to pull off a belt. Their cloth goods shirt is nice.
