In part to minimize my display, in part to correct some of Mattel's shortcomings, and in part to have a little fun with my memories and imagination, I've made these mash ups and fix ups. Please feel free to give your opinions and share your own favorite mash ups (if you have any) and fix ups.
First is Ric Flair with a Jakks big gold belt and a custom blue robe. Underneath the robe is his Carolina blue outfit.
Next is Jerry the King with his 80s Memphis head and 90s WWF attire. I think this is the best Jerry the King. The reason I made this mash up is because his red and black attire doesn't pop well enough with The Outsiders, LOD, Natural Disasters, and Vader already taking those colors. And this head with that goatee is the iconic Jerry the King face. To me, this the perfect representation of his overall gimmick: the best head and the best attire. I know it's anachronistic, but I love it.
This ... Is ... STING! I took his basic green and black head and put it on the Bash at the Beach 3-pack body for an awesome (IMHO) early surfer Sting.
Sgt. Slaughter with his Iraqi sympathizer head and elbow pads on his legends figure. This is the perfect Sarge (again, IMHO).
Macho King with checkered tights and glasses minus the scepter and crown but adding the UE jacket and stetson (hat). My Ringside exclusive purple Macho King is my iconic Macho King, so this now serves as my Cowboy Macho.
WCW's The Giant was just awesome to 12-year-old me back in the day. I put a Jakks head on an early Big Show body with recent Andre hands. I don't much care for the cloth singlet, but I kept the tattoos because they help him stand out from Andre. I know Big Show didn't get these tattoos until after his "Giant" days, but like Jerry the King above, this fig looks too cool. And I don't want to acetone the tats off. BTW, you can see the figure stand that came with the Giant/Flair two-pack. I ended up keeping this Jakks head because I like the angry scowl.
Last but not least, a simple fix up: Hacksaw Jim Duggan with the legends body from shoulders to knees. The head is a recent USA singlet elite and the lower legs are from his basic figure. Yes, I swapped them at the knees and sacrificed a little articulation there for thicker lower legs. To me, he is MUCH improved over his long and skinny default parts. And I had to use a plastic band to hold his 2X4 in place the way I want it. I'd give him an American flag, too, but he'd take up too much space if I did.
