What if in 2005 Batista and Cena stayed on their respective brands. Let’s neglect how likely or unlikely this was. But, I thought this to be interesting topic.

For a start Batista wouldn't have been injured by Mark Henry and missed months of action.
On a serious note the WHC needed to be taken away from HHH. He had been involved in basically every title feud since 2002.

He had been involved in basically every title feud since 2002. I think Batista doing it and ending “reign of terror” gave him a huge bump. I think unfortunately Batista did have a lot less compelling programs to work with. I think SD in 04-06 was a lot thinner on star power. JBL didn’t do bad job with Batista at all. And I think Batista by his program with Undertaker in 07 had significantly improved as big level star.

I guess we would have seen a Batista vs. Angle feud, perhaps a Batista vs. HBK match would have happened as well.
For Cena, I guess Cena would have feuded with Guerrero again, which would have been pretty entertaining in just the promos alone.

For as big of a star as Batista, he really didn't stick around long and we missed out on some potential good feuds.

For as big of a star as Batista, he really didn't stick around long and we missed out on some potential good feuds. Yeah, good point. He had a FANTASTIC 2005. Started the year as the heavy in Evolution and immediately exploded to superstar status by walking out the champ at WrestleMania 21 a few months later. Unfortunately, he got hurt at the end of the year (early 2006 possibly) which resulted in him missing significant time. I was in attendance when he reclaimed the belt at Survivor Series 2006 in Philly, but for some reason it just felt like he was not able to regain the same momentum he had the previous year when he first rose to the top.
