I was thinking…since WWE seems to really want to do Reigns/Rock at WM39, which many of us want to see, maybe Cody could win the Rumble but cash in at SummerSlam? He could be on the sidelines after returning and winning the Rumble (back from injury and working regularly again, but "on the sidelines" in terms of observing what's going on in the company, taking notes, taking time to decide what he wants to do next), and notice that Rock has returned and really wants a match with Roman. Cody could say he very much respects this potential match, and will stay on the sidelines (as far as the UWU Championship goes), challenging the winner in August. Maybe have Cody work Seth at Mania.
Roman wins, and then if Cody wins at SummerSlam it all comes full circle, since Roman won the belt in August 2020. He’ll get exactly three years on top.
What ideas do you see playing out in 2023 with Reigns, Rock, and Cody?

Whatever doesn’t lead to The Rock or Cody Rhodes as champion and splits the titles.
Cody should be champion, but not this soon. This wasn’t the plan before Cody had his issues with AEW. So there’s no reason to bring him back and have him as your top guy so soon.

Nothing including Dwayne.
Why bother and why go through all the trouble to book around him. Sounds like it’s 50/50 at this point. The tickets are sold and I don’t see the sense of booking Rock for a one-off.
Cody vs Reigns makes all the sense in the world.

Seth vs. Roman rematch from last years Rumble at this years Rumble, ends in a screwy finish (i.e. double pin). Later in the night Rhodes returns to win the Rumble.
Seth/Roman rematch in a ladder match at Elimination Chamber. Seth pulls the WWE Title, Roman pulls the Universal title. Leading to Pearce announcing the title split the next night on Raw.
Cody announces to challenge Rollins for the WWE Title at Mania due to unfinished business from the pec injury. Story plays out for Rhodes revenge but also Cody chasing the "dream" of being the first member of the Rhodes family to become WWE Champion/tribute to Dusty.
Roman due to losing a title and being overlooked as the marquee for Wrestlemania after Rhodes decides to challenge Seth instead of him loses his s#!t and destroys the entire roster for a week or two. Cutting promos along the way mentioning how Wrestlemania in Hollywood is fitting because he's become bigger than WWE, the Tribal Chief has more opportunity to provide for the family elsewhere, etc... and after Wrestlemania, WWE can say goodbye to Roman Reigns. After a week of warnings from Pearce to stop interfering in matches and injuring talent, Triple H intervenes and says Roman only cares about family, so lets see what happens when he has to fight his own family for the seat at the head of the table. Rock comes out and challenges Roman for the Universal title at Mania.

Pretty simple for me Cody wins the Royal Rumble but faces Reigns at Elimination Chamber and beat Reigns clean for the title.A pissed off Reigns turns on Sami and blames his family for the lose which in turns bring back Dwayne to step up for his family and faces Reigns at Mania with a divided Bloodline.While Cody goes on to face either Rollins for the IV time and to have his return and feud with Rollins go full circle from last year or my other idea Drew McIntryne.They have a very similar backstory and redemtion ark in WWE.
After Reigns beats Dwayne with the help of The Bloodline at Wrestlemania the following episode of Smackdown The Usos & Solo turn and put out Reigns for the rest of the year(WWE badly needs to retire the Bloodline angle and give Reigns a long break) this in turns sets up a face return for Reigns and for him to reform The Shield with Rollins at sets up one of our main events at WM 40 in Philly with The Shield .Vs The Usos for the tag team titles.
While Cody goes on and defends the title for the rest of the year.

Cody vs Reigns - Mania. Special Guest Referee The Rock.
Speculation unclear as to whether Rock will "have Roman's back".
Make them family buddies at first, then create tension in the build.
The rivalry between Cody and Rock could be good too in interactions.
Cody could talk about how his family and himself stick to the business and are loyal.
Whereas Rock left to go to Hollywood and only comes back when the money's right.
Rock could talk trash to Cody etc. Maybe rock bottom? In the build.

If Rock is not wrestling, Rhodes should defeat Roman. The Rock & Roman match can be done anytime, as in Wrestlemania 2024 and should NOT involve the title. Cody is hot now & the story calls for a title win on the granddest stage.

I just watched Wrestlemania 14 and despite him being a little awkward, Tyson was booked perfectly. They can do the same with the Rock. Have him acknowledge Roman as the current head of the table in the company and he’s proud of his success. Have him do a few Dusty impressions to make it seem like he’s mocking Cody. In the end he counts the three for Cody. Afterwards Roman gets in his face and eats a Rock Bottom. Year later, Rocky main eventing in Philly against Roman. |

I don't think it has to be super complicated.
Cody wins rumble. Only wants one title.
Cody/Roman opens wrestlemania for whatever title is going to look retro. Cody wins.
Roman/Rock in main event. Roman wins.
Title split, Cody happy Roman still big dog all is well.
