There is/was a twitter account I used to follow years ago and he said JBL saying Cody Rhodes sounded like Coaty Roads and I’ve not forgotten. Long live Coaty Roads. I love it Maggle! He's gonna Coaty cut his way to the top of the mountain. (I just hope he's at RAW next week since I'll be there but he won't but I can dream) You can American Dream!

Cody’s blood tests are as clean as his IQ is high, so you can decide for yourself what that means. lol

by that logic, where does that put McIntyre?
he left and came back and has been nxt champ once, raw tag champ once, and wwe champ twice
nothing against Cody at all and glad he’s back. can’t wait for him to be wwe champ

It’s interesting the order of the promotions for some of these guys.
McIntyre was in the E, left and learned a new hold in TNA, and came back.
AJ Styles went from TNA to ROH/NJPW to the E.
Cody left the E, and it turned out that Cody’s post-WWE career took the same order as AJ’s pre-E one (TNA, ROH/NJPW). Then he founded AEW, then returned to the E.
Adam Cole went to the E from NJPW/ROH, then went to AEW.
Samoa Joe went ROH-TNA-WWE.

Genius? He's certainly well educated on the wrestling business, with good business acumen.
I think fate, luck, and misfortune all played a role in his career. I don't think he planned this direction, but it's pretty incredible.
The reality is that he's simply the best wrestler on the planet right now. Nobody combines storytelling and wrestling ability better than Cody. Yes Seth and Kenny Omega can run laps around him, but can they cut the type of promo he can? Can they spin a narrative and get an audience invested?
On the flipside the other great storytellers in wrestling like Roman Reigns couldn't hold his jockstrap in the ring. So overall he's just more a complete player than anybody else. Cody had a short 2022 but netted a Meltzer 5 star in 2 different companies over 6 months. Roman could never.

I was thinking about how over Cody has been in the past year with returning to the WWE and even now with out injured, fans still talk about him and are excited for his return. So I got thinking about the past years since Cody left WWE after they pretty much said, "you're here, you aren't going any higher up than this."
Cody knew his worth and went out and proved it.
He first showed up at TNA/IMPACT after his WWE release. He went to ROH and became ROH Six Man Champion, ROH Champion and even won the IWGP US Championship.
He helped create a wrestling PPV that wasn't a WWE PPV and won the NWA World Title at it, thus checking off another box on the "dream" list of things to do.
With that, he suckered a billionaire into creating a wrestling promotion so he and his friends didn't have to work in Japan or at an indy fed and got to be on TNT and TBS - two places his dad and brother performed on years ago, and got to be seen by a national audience weekly on a cable network.
Cody got himself so over in AEW, that WWE had no choice but to take notice and now Cody comes in, with his theme song, with his American Nightmare name and look, and WWE fully accepted it all.
So with that all being said, is Cody a wrestling genius??
I said this a while ago. I think it's spot on.
