I swear this forum is a free think tank for Mattel. This is a great idea! So many possibilities! I hope they do something like this. Mattel could release this once a quarter, it’d be perfect for Mattel creations.

I wish this were real now. I'd easily pay a premium for these two packs as long as they are made in the premium, Ultimate fashion.
Accurate attires, entrance gear, any match relevant accessories
For example, if we got Austin vs Rock from Wrestlemania X7
1. Austin and Rock in their relevant attires. So I'd want Steve Austin to have his BMF Entrance vest, The Rock in his silver logo attire with the Big Eagle Attitude Era championship.
2. I want at least a steel chair. I'd also maybe want alternate heads that are bloodied.
I'd be willing to sacrifice a lot of accessories for a cheaper price point as well.

I'd be more on-board if it was a general greatest matches line honestly. We've already got a lot of these attires already, a few already as ultimates, so it'd be cool to have a wider range to pull from. Like Piper and Valentine from the dog collar match or Harley Race and Dusty Rhodes or Flair and Steamboat.

This is a cool idea but probably when they’re done with Coliseum. Too many premium two pack lines at the same time seems risky.
Macho Man vs Ric Flair from WrestleMania 8 seems like a perfect first shot in terms of being big-name characters, suitably different from their previous Ultimates, and scope for relevant accessories with the elaborate gear and the WWE title. Would go great with the New Gen stage too.

You make a good point, WM might be too limiting as a line but classic matches would suit me fine as well. I was thinking about this yesterday, some of the really great WM matches are kind of already spoken for at least in the case of one of the wrestlers. WM7 Macho could use the update, but Warrior would be a re-release. WM18 would have to be Rock and Hogan, but that's kinda unnecessary after this year's WM elite line. It would be my dream to have a figure representing every WM main event (I like specific, complete collections like that) but I know that's simply not in the cards for many reasons. |
