Just explain me one thing, if ultimate Edition HBK is the best fig of the year then how Doink became the best Ultimate? 2 separate categories. Certainly odd. When selecting Figure of the Year, people select 3. When selecting Best Ultimate, people select 2. Maybe HBK was the 3rd selection for a lot of voters and got pushed out once they had to trim it down to 2. Wish there was a way to rank top 3 when voting (rather than all 3 votes having the same weight) but Google Forms doesn’t allow it. That's what happened for my vote, but with Macho though. I picked Shawn/Doink/Macho (mattel creations) for FOTY and then Shawn/Doink for UOTY. In addition, it looks like more people voted for figure of the year and then skipped some of the remaining categories. It's also possible people were less biased when picking figure of the year and then more biased in some of the other categories (picking the figure they thought deserved to win in FOTY and then switching off to the figure they personally wanted to win in other categories or vice versa). It's kind of like the Grammy's - you have album of the year and then all of the sub genres. You would think if a pop album is the only pop album nominated in Album of the Year that it should automatically win the Best Pop Album, but it doesn't always work out that way. |

If the face scan Elite 94 - British Bulldog had been a new more realistic looking one then, yeah. Otherwise.... Its just an elit version of the previous summerslam basic. Bit lazy really. All the new articulation warranst adoration or something?!  . |

Man, legends Kane was pretty much perfect (if you got one with correct mask paint). Very surprised it didn’t make it into the top 10 overall figs. HBK was the clear choice for #1 though. A perfect figure.

This seemed like a down year. There were a lot of really good figures but none that were truly great IMO. That HBK was is probably the best Shawn figure Mattel has done but it didn’t really wow me. I think it’s because we’ve gotten 12 years worth of figures from Mattel that it’s hard to really get excited for just another release of the same guy (or gal) even if it looks better than the ones that came before it. Same with Doink. Yeah the UE is better but we already have two others in our collection. That’s why I voted for Zeus. He was a figure we always hoped for but didn’t think we would ever get, was executed perfectly, and the presentation in package surpassed everything else.

The UE HBK and the SDCC set were my favorites this year. Dok Hendrix and Chainsaw Charlie are two of my very favorites of the year also but those are 2023 I guess? And then I'll totally forget they count come this time next year. I think Ultimate Diesel was the best figure in the ring set. I know it's not fluffy with accessories like Doink and Macho but it's easily the best Diesel figure of all time imo.
The Superstars line was line of the year for me in 22. Everything has been a hit for me with that line so far.

Distribution has been a mess but every figure was a home run with maybe only Bray being the exception. Interesting most everyone's favorites at the top are all retired Legends. WWE has not done a good enough job making the current guys marketable.

Also a majority of the people on these boards or those who would follow retro stars on Twitter probably skew older and prefer the classic wrestlers. And with the exception of a few guys like Seth or New Day, no one really has creative flashy attire. |

Many of my Non wrestling friends visit my Home and when they see my collection most of them point out how beautiful that HBK action figure is. So, your point is invalid. |
