1. Royal Rumble spots are by invitation only. (Eliminates the qualify/declaration confusion)
2. Entrant clock is visible at ALL times. (Eliminates the varying time between entrants)
3. Eliminations can ONLY be done by legal participants. (Legitimizes rules and gives credibility to referee authority)
4. Eliminations occur when a wrestler goes Over the Top rope and loses contact with any part of the ring. (Eliminates the stale “Kofi” spots)
5. Entrants must enter the ring before the next entrant or they are dq’d. (Eliminates the failure to engage)
6. Entrants have 10 seconds to reenter the ring if they are forcibly removed from the ring other than being eliminated or they are dq’d. (Eliminates the failure to engage)
7. If an entrant voluntarily leaves the ring on their own by any means they are eliminated. (Eliminates the failure to engage)
8. Winner gets Main Event match of their choice at Wrestlemania. (There could be a dream match that excludes the belts)
ADDITIONALLY
WWE needs to drop a couple things that although could be in compliance with the above rules just lead to poor entertainment.
A. Grand Entrances. The last 5ish years all the stars come out with their ring gear on and do their “Sasha” poses. No this is a Rumble, you need to be chomping at the bit to get in that ring. The timer goes off you should be sprinting to the ring Ultimate Warrior style. (this has been done randomly in Rumbles past and should continue)
B. Spots. A new entrant gets in the ring, one person meets them in the middle and the additional participants fall victim to gravitational pull and suddenly become incapacitated and lay on the floor until the new entrant gets their “Royal Rumble moment”. Too theatrical and the antithesis of a Rumble.
C. First entrant winning. Should have began and ended with HBK.
