I would love it, but without having Sting or Arn (?) signed I feel it will never be complete to me.

Sting said he was going to retire after his deal ends this year. I’m assuming he can make more $$$ from a WWE merch deal than AEW but time will tell, I guess. I desperately want Sting ultimates.

The good thing about lines like this is even if they don't have every major player signed, they can always release them later in the line when/if they are signed. With Mattel Creations and Ringside exclusives, they also have another option to release one-offs later on for Sting/Arn, if they ever re-sign.
They would have to release like 2 a year or add people they have signed that were there during the early WCW years, but never got a figure.
Signed Lex Rock Steiner Scott Steiner Sid Vicious Ron Simmons Michael Hayes
Signed before: Barry Windham Ric Flair Brian Pillman Sting Dustin Rhodes Arn Anderson
Possible: Butch Reed Jimmy Garvin
Most likely not gonna happen: Tom Zenk El Gigante (if the rights issue is ever resolved, I think he would be signed right away) Big Josh

With Ric Flair merch returning to WWE Shop, he might be back under a deal. Even if they only did a few of these with the guys they have available, I would welcome them.

Yeah, between that and WWE promoting the documentary special, I also think he is back under a deal. Even if that is true, it's still up to Mattel if they want to release figures of him again. I think they will, but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. If they do, I hope they start cranking out several with robes in a short amount of time.

I'd be in for these absolutely. The more golden age era Ultimate figures the better.

I'm in. Love the simplicity of the packaging. They do have the license to a good number of the older wrestlers, but they will be missing Sting, Dustin Rhodes, Arn Anderson, Tom Zenk, etc. If they do these, they'll have to add entrance gear to make them ultimates. I'm kind of hoping they'll do something like this for the Hasbro line and Ultimate Editions.

I would love an Oz and Diamond Studd. Probably one of the few WCW characters I ever liked. Neither were made, but figured I'd throw that out there. I'll have to get Zenk customized. El Gigante was cool. Rap Master was an amusing loser. Butch Reed is needed. There's no reason why he couldn't get signed. Stunning Steve Austin oozed future star to me in 1991 from his walk to facials. Glad Mattel made that one. It was glaring that he wasn't made before given the he was around for years

Easily my favorite card backs ever. I'd be all over Ultimate versions.

This crossed my mind as soon as Retros happened, but I would like Ultimate Versions, too.
My main want would be actual Galoob style figures that pick up where the line left off. Between Cactus Jack, Rick Rude, Vader, Stunning Steve Austin, Sid, British Bulldog, Paul E. Dangerously, and Ricky Steamboat, Mattel could make one hell of a follow-up series.

Wow, it’s like this thread read my mind … one day last week at work as I was going about my normal routine this idea just popped into my head, I was thinking how cool it would be to have those old Galoobs in Elite figure form with the same attires … I wasn’t thinking about the packaging for them though, just the figures themselves but the packaging shown would be outstanding … Maybe still release them two at a time like the other Ultimates & have the UK versions in different attires as chase figures for each ( I’d love to have that black & yellow surfer Sting as an Elite if he ever signed with Wwe again & these actually came to fruition …a lot of those old Galoobs are so expensive these days especially carded & it’s tough to find them loose in good condition that aren’t beat all to hell … I have been lucky enough to get my hands on three loose ones at decent prices for my collection ( Flyin Brian & the Steiners ) that are in near mint condition after 30+ years now … makes me wish the 15 year old me hadn’t ripped them all open back in the day!!

SAME. I was very disappointed with Mattel's execution of the Stinger. I think figurewise, he's probably the biggest star who has been misrepresented in figure form. There was a huge gap between his Toybiz figures, the wonky disproportioned TNA figures and the Jakks Stings which were only good for the headscans. Mattel chose some good attires, but they were all over the place in terms of part selection and accuracy. I'm selfishly hoping he signs a WWE deal. I also think WWE handled him poorly in terms of booking, but that's a different story.
