Piggybacking off a discussion I had in the January 2023 Smackdown thread with Triple S, going by Meltzer’s ratings, which matches throughout time did he fail to give five stars, that you think definitely deserved five stars?
For me:
-Michaels/Undertaker, WM25
-Jericho and Benoit/Austin and Triple H, 05/21/01 RAW
-Angle/Benoit, 2003 Royal Rumble

I honestly don't give a crap at what Dave Meltzer likes or doesn't like.
The only difference between him and any of us on this forum is that he somehow makes a living out of saying things in regards of wrestling and we as fans are supposed to care what he thinks.
F that guy. I have no care for anything he has to say.

I honestly don't give a crap at what Dave Meltzer likes or doesn't like. The only difference between him and any of us on this forum is that he somehow makes a living out of saying things in regards of wrestling and we as fans are supposed to care what he thinks. F that guy. I have no care for anything he has to say.  |

Hard to disagree. It’s kind of a phenomenon similar to Siskel/Ebert/Roeper. So many people pay attention to what these critics say, but why? Because the standards are so high?
Are they really, though? In Japan and the indies Dave gives matches five stars left and right.
You kind of end up wondering how these people got to the positions they’re in. While I respect Dave and enjoy reading what he has to say, and following his ratings, it is simply just an opinion at the end of the day.

If I am being honest if it wasn’t for this site I would have zero idea of who he is. And even now I really know nothing about him nor do I care to. So I wouldn’t know what he rated anything. And it would all just be opinions anyway.

Who on earth cares? He's one man who has an opinion, just like the millions of other fans do.
I'm pretty sure the wrestlers who put their lives on the line every night don't do it to impress one man.
We are all fans, we all have different opinions, what Meltzer likes and hates doesn't effect me in the slightest.

a few matches id add would be:

Meltzer has an obvious bias and also reports pretty much anything he reads/hears.
I feel sorry for anyone that pays him money. I’ve seen better takes on Wfigs.
