1. As long as they make wrestlers I like I will continue to purchase them.
2. Not that it made me think about quitting. But I feel they dropped the ball with surfer Sting figures. He’s a guy I feel they could have put in every elite, basic & BP wave and he’d sell out every time.
3. GAB ‘90 Sting, Legends & FB’s.
4. Steiners, Dynamite Kid, Pedro Morales. Billy Jack Haynes, Ivan and Nikita Koloff and many more Stings were needed.

1 - Do you see yourself collecting this line till the end? 2 - What have been your hardest moments during this time that have made you come close to quitting? 3 - What are some great things that Mattel did at the beginning which hooked you in? 4 - What are some long awaited wrestlers you are still waiting for? (that they can "legally/possibly" produce of course) 5 - anything else that you have experienced in over 10 years of collecting this line?
1.I see myself collecting and cherry picking to build up my roster of WCW and WWE guys from the Monday Night Wars. I also collect guys I was a fan of too. I think maybe one day, I'll end up with no figures though. I love collecting and the memories that it brings back to my childhood.
2.This year, I've been reflecting on decisions I made in my early 20's and health. A lot of it was reckless spending because I wasn't happy with the quality of life I was living, but also didn't want to face reality. I let a lot of people put me down about my hobbies and overall interests in life. Spending and buying figures and other materialistic possessions kind of gave me an outlet, but also a mask to put on my problems. So within the last year, I've sold at least 70 percent of my collection. I haven't thought too much about the stuff I sold, which in hindsight makes me realize that a lot of purchases were impulsive. I now cherry pick the line and get what works for my roster without it getting too out of hand. I'd rather use the rest of my money and mental space for investments. I'd like to experience life a bit.
3.I was here during the initial launch. It was really cool, but also bittersweet. I really liked Jakks, even for all the nonsense and wacky stuff they did every once in a while. Mattel gave us something that Jakks didn't and that was scale with more realistic body proportions. They also delivered when it came to cloth goods. Jakks loved using that cheap plastic crap.
4.I hope Mattel could get the rights to Sting again, he's always been my favorite wrestler since I was about 5-6 years old. IMO, he's the biggest underrepresented wrestler in figure form for someone of his stature.
5.I've seen technology improve in terms of face scans, I've seen a lot of members disappear here which is weird because I was used to seeing a lot of household names on these forums. I miss thedean (guy who made decals) fixups. It was always a treat to see his new stuff. I kind of feel like a fossil now. Anyways, I've also seen this community come together when it's come to getting what we want, being vocal and also debating. I still remember some of the funny threads of the past. That one time Lorenzo caused Bill to leave over his criticism, the guy who kept making new accounts to curse everyone out, thememan and the usual wfigs schtick.

1 - Do you see yourself collecting this line till the end?
I collect the figures as I want and need. As a BIG collector of the CS line, the initial draw to me early on was the Ricky Steamboat and Macho Man figures, neither were ever produced under Jakks. And of course as we moved further away from Jakks and new wrestlers were out for the first time in the Mattel collection (Remember the furor over the first Sheamus figure?) that helped. I don't collect every figure, just the ones that are FTITL and significant look changes. So as long as figures that interest me are coming out, I will get them.
2 - What have been your hardest moments during this time that have made you come close to quitting?
I have never come close to quitting, but I think the worst time for me was when Walmart cancelled their mini lines for the Legends they were doing - the Elite and the Basics. The notorious wave with King Harley never hit anywhere near me that I could find, but I was very lucky to get the basic WCW wave with Suited Ric Flair about an hour and a half away from me. My mindset is that that these should not be so damn hard to get, and it was certainly frustrating.
I think the other harder part, and this seems to be before Steve came in, is the poor decision making when it comes to wrestlers contracts. Not being 'on the ball' enough to get wrestlers in X, Y, and Z gear during the 2 years they are under contract seems like bad management to me. We all have seen these - Defining Moments Hollywood Hogan. Legends Sting. Even the recent Jeff Jarrett, but that situation seems like Jeff was only back with WWE for a short time, so that most likely does not fall on Mattel.
3 - What are some great things that Mattel did at the beginning which hooked you in?
At the beginning, nothing special. I was never a chase guy so when they had things like the chairs and such that were 'chase' figures because of that, I didn't care. Early on I think it was the newer (at the time) legends like the above mentioned Steamboat & Savage.
4 - What are some long awaited wrestlers you are still waiting for? (that they can "legally/possibly" produce of course)
Not sure of the legally/possibly aspect, but I wish they would do some more deeper dives of the Legends. As a huge Ric Flair and 4 Horseman fan, not having Ole Anderson in the line anywhere feels like a gaping hole - we did get JJ Dillon, which was one of the best surprises to me - but not Ole. I am hopeful that PowerTown is successful in that regards to fill those holes for the niche collectors.
5 - Anything else that you have experienced in over 10 years of collecting this line?
I have been fortunate that I live in an area big enough for a Target and 2 Walmarts within 20 minutes of me. So the ability to get figures has been fairly easy for me, except for a few named above

Original Jakks collector. First hunt was New Year’s Day 2009. The day of the launch.
To those I would like to ask you: -Do you see yourself collecting this line till the end?
Yes. Legends (1989-1993) only.
-What have been your hardest moments during this time that have made you come close to quitting?
Horrible distribution to stores.
-What are some great things that Mattel did at the beginning which hooked you in?
Mattel brought a great deal of lines all at once. They really flooded the market. They also had the chase belts.
-What are some long awaited wrestlers you are still waiting for? (that they can "legally/possibly" produce of course)
Koko, Barbarian, Jesse Ventura, Brother Love

I’ve cut back on what I collect but don’t plan on stopping. I’ll likely stick to legends for the most part but my enjoyment of the line hasn’t diminished despite some of Mattel’s “shortcuts.”
Hardest moment is deciding whether I need another version of a particular performer or not. There’s been figures I regret buying, and there’s been figures I’ve sold that I miss.
I was ready to stop collecting when Mattel took over. Seeing how they took scale seriously is what pulled me back in.
Big WCW fan, so glad to hear the Steiners are finally signed. Big Pappa Pump in his purple gear is a big want from me. More obscure characters like Scott Norton and random CWs would be cool too.
Tip is don’t impulse-buy. Unless your gut is 100% in on a figure, you’ll likely survive passing on someone or else it’ll just be another figure sitting in a bucket somewhere.

1 - Do you see yourself collecting this line till the end?
It’s possible. I only collect legends stuff now so it’s not a crazy burden. Who knows what the future holds though. I don’t really see myself not collecting some type of wrestling figure though.
2 - What have been your hardest moments during this time that have made you come close to quitting?
Probably around Elite 12 through 20 I just started getting the flashback figures and that was it. Even those I skipped out on a few and just kind of gave up collecting. It was for any real reason though. I just kind of lose interest here and there or put money into something else.
3 - What are some great things that Mattel did at the beginning which hooked you in?
I would say the price of them was really good. 9.99 for a basic and I think it was around 15$ if that for an Elite. Put that with the fact it was a lot of new body types and they were really focused on the height and built factor. Not everyone was super jacked at 7 foot tall. The body types are still pretty decent to this day even though some are a bit off for the most part if they need a special tooling they seem to go for it. Examples of Yokozuna, earthquakes.
4 - What are some long awaited wrestlers you are still waiting for? (that they can "legally/possibly" produce of course)
For me it’s finishing up the nation of domination. Why they haven’t done a Kama yet I don’t know. Id also like to see a Dink figure also along with Mr Fuiji,Captain Lou, Koko B.Ware and Virgil in wrestling attire to name a few. I don’t know how likely they are
