WWE appears to be moving on from Daniel Bryan's impressive performance at the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble event. At WWE’s first event as part of their Saudi Arabia deal, Daniel Bryan entered at #1 and lasted a record-breaking 76 minutes and 5 seconds. In WWE’s latest Royal Rumble ‘By The Numbers’ video, Bryan's performance is ignored in favor of Rey Mysterio’s impressive 2006 run, which lasted 62:12. WWE has previously acknowledged Bryan’s performance as the longest time for a person to compete in a Royal Rumble match. Daniel Bryan would be the penultimate elimination in 2018 before Braun Strowman tossed out Big Cass to win the 50-person match.
I personally say it's about time, that was never a real Royal Rumble. Just a glorified and overpopulated battle royal with no incentive or reward created to give the Saudi's some "wow" moments. Might as well have handed out a statue of Andre the Giant to the winner instead of that hideous green paper weight we never seen again. Also the fact that Big cAss was in the final three is a massive shame imo. So I was thinking, with D-Bry no longer holding the record, I doubt we will ever see someone else break Mysterio's record with them now doing 2 Rumbles a year on the same show but IF they did want to break that record officially, who would you like to see break that record? Who do you think has the work rate to physically break that record? The only two people I can think of with the stamina to get it done convincingly off the top of my head are Rollins and Rhodes. Maybe Butch because that man never seems to run out of gas and it's honestly astonishing to me.

I count Bryan’s run as the longest. It was branded as a Royal Rumble. Plus he looked like an absolute badass during it. Was the first time it really felt like he was back after returning from retirement.
This year, I’d have Jey Uso be the ironman. Him or Sami for story purposes.

The GRR in no way is really considered apart of the Rumble heritage
That’s definitely a “GD pal, they’re paying us millions. We’ve gotta mention it!”

The Greatest Royal Rumble was never canon and I'm glad it's not acknowledged. The further it drifts to the forgotten past the better.
Cody has always had long runs in past Rumbles so if he's not winning he could start at 1 and then set a new record.

Bob Backlund lasting over 60+ minutes in 1993 doesn't get acknowledged that much at all.

Cody or Sami winning from number 1 this year would be sweet. They should go 60+ mins.

If they don’t count that then they need to stop counting Braun’s 13 eliminations as tied for the most (maybe they already have, idk, but fair is fair).

I count Austin. He lasted 45:07 in 97, 15:58 in 98, and 56:38 in 99 totaling 1:57:43 over 3 consecutive rumbles until he was eliminated. Considering he wasnt eliminated in 98 and was 1st in 99 that’s 1:12:36 consecutive minutes over two rumbles.

Flair also was never eliminated in 1992 lasting 1:02:02 and was 1 in 1993 lasting 18:38 before being eliminated totaling 1:20:40 consecutive minutes over back to back Rumbles

Benoit in 2004 was number 1 lasting 1:01:30 without being eliminated and was number 2 in 2005 (essentially the same as number 1) and lasted 46:26 before being eliminated totaling 1:47:56 consecutive minutes in back to back Rumbles.

Greatest Royal Rumble shouldn't count anyway.

The greatest Royal Rumble will ironically go down as one of the worst Royal Rumbles. It definitely had some of the worst competitors. And with such little stakes, is there any wonder the announcers gradually lost professionalism as the show went on.

If the greatest rumble is a part of the lineage than out of fairness and logic, the Little Person Rumble from Raw with Hornswoggle should count as well

"Who did Braun Strowman last eliminate in the Greatest Royal Rumble?" would be a fantastic quiz question. Big Cass? Really? You could have given me 30 guesses and I still wouldn't have got that.

Maven is the longest as he still hasn't been eliminated from the 2002 Rumble.

Yeah, when the most memorable thing from it was Titus' trip, it deserves to be forgotten, and buried in a warehouse like at the end of Raiders.

I see Cody starting at 1 and winning. That’s basically how he’s been booked since AEW - in a way that ensures people turn on him quickly. The torn pec got him sympathy and respect, but I still believe he wants to be Cena. He wants the kids to love him but they older fans to hate him.

The Greatest Royal Rumble was never canon and I'm glad it's not acknowledged. “Canon” lol. The commentators were talking about The Greatest Royal Rumble on SmackDown last night.
