Cody’s momentum won’t be bigger than it was tonight. The fans were dying for him to win. I get it, they want to recreate the chase like his father did decades ago, but Cody has already overcome so many obstacles. You’d think HHH would also have learned by now that Wrestlemania should be the heroes big triumph considering he helped to deflate the ending to a few of these events himself. Cody may win the titles by SummerSlam, but it won’t matter as much as it would have tonight. They’ll just remember the same-old Uso interference to help Reigns win (which is a shame as this match was perfect until the ending). I think a lot of that is re-writing history. Dusty never really "chased" after the WWWF title. Back in the 70s, he wasn't a part of the WWWF, so he never really went after the WWWF Champion. He did have three matches with Superstar Billy Graham for the belt (maybe 2, one match could have taken place after Billy dropped the belt to Backlund), but those weren't really a challenger chasing the champion, it was mainly just a way to sell out Madison Square Garden. Dusty was never going to be the champion since he wasn't a full-time WWWF wrestler.

The thing that I hate, is that we live in a world where there's never a legitimate conclusion to anything. Wrestlemania used to be about finality, and the end of the previous years booking.
We live in the content era now, where no big franchise ever really pays off a massive story and walks away. Everything is dragged out until it dies with a whimper.

Wrong man won. Plain and simple.
The tiniest of tiny minorities’ thoughts don’t matter.
Fans have spoken. And they’re not happy.

Loved the shows. Just a great two nights. And I’m excited to see how the triumphant Tribal Chief deals with the cousins who lost their titles. I’m excited to see Rousey and Baszler challenge for the tag titles. I’m excited to see how Cody deals with his failure to end the story. I’m excited to see if MVP can turn Omos’ loss and Lashley’s omission into a super team. I’m excited to see what’s next for Bianca Belair, the Judgement Day, Gunther, Drew, Sheamus, Rollins, KO and Sami.

Cody Rhodes is a mid carder, simple as. Just let it run until WM40 and have Gunther dethrone Roman.

Rhodes to win the Title @ SummerSlam & win the MITB Ladder match also
Reigns vs Gunther or Rock vs Reigns @ WM40
Anyone of those would be good for me.

Who was the last Royal Rumble match winner to win the WWE Championship in the last match at WrestleMania in front of people? Good question, I’m thinking it was Cena back in 2013... a while 10 years ago!

ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕕 𝕋𝕠 𝕂𝕚𝕝𝕝 ASR (therockisback) you are correct, it's been 10 years that a Royal Rumble match winner didn't win the WWE Championship in the main event of the show of shows. Correct if I am wrong isn't WrestleMania supposed to end storylines and Raw is the start of a new start, Roman Reigns story could have ended last night.

WrestleMania used to be where stories culminated. Where fans went home happy. Lately it’s just a big payday for WWE and an excuse to run rematches until Summerslam because they’re lazy and have sucked at booking for 20 years.
