So what was the story here? He's on commentary weekly...wins the RR...& is on commentary again until March 6th Raw.
Was he injured? Really weird seeing the RR winner sitting it out on commentary weekly....

So Shawn Michaels broke his wrist/hand in late 1994. Actually it was before Survivor Series 94. Which is why HBK didn't wrestle that match really while still being in that match.
He was then off TV wrestling until the Royal Rumble when he was medically cleared to compete again. Which is why that one taped hand he had at the Royal Rumble is so thick and bulky looking, that was the broken one that was healed and taped up.
So they had HBK doing commentary with Vinnie Mac or Gino Monsoon on Raw at times to keep him on TV.

I am not entirely sure about that. From what I remember reading or hearing (it's been a minute now since I thought of this) that HBK did have to get surgery on said wrist or hand. Like I said, I forget exactly what part of the arm it was. But it's why HBK didn't do a lot from November - around March 1995. I think his first match on Raw was against the Bulldog in 1995 and that was in March. My guess is his hand still wasn't the best in the Rumble if he had it wrapped so heavily.

Ahh yeah the taped hand which had ''TK'' on it aka Themis Klarides. The woman he was dating at the time who was a WWF ring girl at one point IIRC

on a side note? I know McMahon has his fans in the booth but good god he was reprehensible with HBK on Commentary. Only Cornette could save things before King got back in regular rotation.
