I feel like there has been a lot of Sid love going around lately and I just watched the 1997 Royal Rumble the other night so I thought this would be a fun topic.
What are your four favorite Sid matches, here are mine.
Sid vs Undertaker: WWF European Rampage 1992: This was the main event of the first night in Glasgow. I am pretty sure this was one of his last matches as it was just after WrestleMania VIII. It was a fun match and it was the first match that I saw live which had some fun shenanigans going on after the bell.
Sid vs Shawn Michaels: Survivor Series 1996: Never in a million years did I think that HBK was in any danger of losing the title to Sid here. This is a really fun match and the way the crowd turns on Shawn makes it such a unique atmosphere.
Sid vs Shawn Michaels: Royal Rumble 1997: I actually prefer this match to the one they had at Survivor Series, it was great to see Shawn go toe to toe with Sid at many points in the match and it felt like a real fight/grudge match..... however there is something I hate about this match and I mean HATE!!!! there is this bunghole fan that whistles pretty much throughout the whole of HBKs entrance and at a few other points during the match. It is the loudest most obnoxious whistling I have ever heard and it goes right through me. How did no one sitting next to this person tell them to shut the hell up?
Sid vs Bret Hart: In Your House 12: I truly do not think there is anyone that could not get a good match out of Bret Hart. Bret and Sid actually worked really well together and I nearly picked the match they would have in February over this one, but I picked this one as I was so shocked that Bret did not win the title.
Sid has actually had way more fun matches than people give him credit for. He was a real attraction and someone that I always liked. A couple of honorable mentions are,
Him and Spike vs Bubba Ray and D-Von in ECW, him vs Bret on RAW in 97 and him vs Bulldog. To be honest he has also been in some absolute stink out the joint matches too, but he still has some fun ones to his name.
