Royal Rumble: 1991: Rockers Vs Orient Express. Not only is this my favourite opening match of all time, it's one of my all time favourite matches. As a kid I was so bumed out we never got figures of the Orient Express.
WrestleMania: X: Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart: An all time Mania classic. This was not a slam dunk though as Rockers Vs Barbarian and Haku is like half a step behind this match for me.
SummerSlam:1989: The Hart Foundation Vs The Brain Busters: This was the first PPV I actually ever saw (all be it on tape delay) Bret Hart really is Mr SummerSlam and how WWE put that title on Edge still makes me mad! Also The Brian Busters were some of the first guys that I hated, but hated in the way you should hate a heel.
Survivor Series: 1990: Ultimate Warrior, Texas Tornado and Legion of Doom Vs Mr. Perfect and Demolition. Having Warrior and Tornado teaming was so cool for me as a kid and the match is a ton of fun. This was the hardest one to pick as 91 and 95 are also openers that I love.

Not to derail the thread, but I’d say Seth or Kurt are much closer to “Mr Summerslam” than Edge.

Not to derail the thread, but I’d say Seth or Kurt are much closer to “Mr Summerslam” than Edge. I think Seth is getting close to this generations Mr WM. |
