Digging in a bit on today's news surrounding the sale of WWE. I don't want to make an all-new thread but I did want to include a poll on this topic.
I've seen a lot of talk about how UFC still has hefty charges associated with their PPVs and how some could imagine WWE doing the same. UFC is charging $79.99 for their PPVs now and this has no work around -- you can watch early card fights on ESPN+ and use ESPN+ to purchase the PPV, but you cannot stream UFC PPVs on any streaming subscription.
AEW obviously has $50 PPVs 5 times a year and they do very well, so there's obviously an audience willing to fork over $50 every few months to see the big events.
The PPV model in UFC seems to work and seems pretty solid for AEW. I know WWE's PPV schedule is way different so its not apples-to-apples with neither the UFC nor AEW.
I am not saying one way or the other that any news source is saying that WWE PPVs will not be available through your current subscription, or that they'll be back to a PPV model in the future. I will say that I think as this aquisition takes place, Endeavor is obviously going to look for any way to maximize its return.
My answer: No way!
At this point, I can't even see myself paying $50 (or more) just for the big four PPVs. If WrestleMania was $80, I more than likely would've not purchased it. I can't imagine paying $50 for an event like Survivor Series, let alone something like Clash of Champions.

I didn't pay for them before the WWE Network, yet I was still able to watch them.... so I guess I will go back to that way again!

Not every month. But Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, probably. Thatβs assuming theyβd be buyable through the WWE Network. I donβt have cable or satellite TV.

I just watch them on twitch in Spanish anyways, but the days of getting together with some Buddies, pitching a few bucks and having a BBQ like I used too (As fun as it was) are over

I would pay $50 - $100 for each night for WrestleMania XL, only because it's at Lincoln Financial Field. Anything before or after that, no. If it wasn't for My Strange Addiction to the Office, I wouldn't even have Peacock right now.

Funny you should say that. My friends, who were fans until 2001ish, have been asking me if I'm going. I said I'd rather watch it at home, on my own time. I actually didn't start watching WM till around 10 PM for both nights. Gone are the days where it's a week long event for me, and I'm talking about before this 2 night format. The last "great" WrestleMania was XXX. Anything after the launch of the WWE Network just wasn't "WrestleMania". It really just felt like WWE's April Premium Live Event. They may as well call it WWE April. In fact, after typing this, I have changed my mind. No, I will not go back to buying Pay Per Views!!

Itβll be years before it happens, but when it does if I want to see a PPV that much Iβll just attend it.
