Luke Williams, aka Bushwhacker Luke, announced today that Bob Miller, better known as Bushwhacker Butch, his longtime partner in The Sheepherders and The Bushwhackers, passed away. He was 78 years old.
Miller’s passing happened after he had traveled from New Zealand to the United States and became ill. He had a medical episode shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, CA for WrestleCon 2023, which resulted in him being rushed to the hospital.
Miller worked for several promotions, including the NWA and WWE. As a tag team with Luke, they held the NWA Florida Tag Team Championships, NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championships, NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championships, and UWF World Tag Team Championships.
The two men were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
Before my time but RIP nonetheless. Rarer to see a wrestler from that rough n tough era make it nearly to their 80's so that's a testament to his lifestyle in itself.

Luke and Butch were so much fun to meet. A lot of people were upset at the WWF for making them a "comedy" team. Luke once told me that they made more money in one year than they did double their time as a "hardcore" team for all those years.

RIP Cousin Butch. Bushwhackers were one of my fave teams when I first got into wrestling. They were perfect for that WWF era, and their classic march was something of a precursor to Daniel Bryan’s “Yes” motions years later - as Bryan says, give fans something to chant or a gesture to copy, and you’re onto a winner. You could pretend to be LOD when there was a school fair or carnival or something with face painting, but you could pretend to be Luke and Butch any day. I’m kinda surprised he was that old, as a kid I wasn’t thinking of him as being almost 50. Although old wrestling was weird, Hogan and Flair looked like old men their entire lives. Thanks for the memories, Butch. I hope the Brawling Brutes hit a tribute battering ram for him.
