One thing about these crowdfund that, as a collector who buys all flashbacks releases, is off putting is them stating they won’t be making these outside of the crowdfund (and sometimes using the verbiage of “as ultimates”) I’m okay if these come out as standard elites as, I don’t see the stage funding even by the end of the campaign and I certainly don’t see DDP,Steiner, or Warrior being made. We’ve already all but lost Hogan. It’s just frustrating being told that we won’t get these figures when I’m sure people would buy them individually as mattel creations made to order figures and/or legends elite releases. I just don’t think 11k backers of this nitro stage was ever feasible no matter who was in tier 1 or the early bird backer at $400 a pop. And that’s coming from someone who has backed 4 of them already. All that was said is that they’d be exclusive to this set. In my mind, if the set isn’t backed, or those tiers aren’t unlocked, then there’s nothing for them to be exclusive to, since they weren’t released, and therefore they could be done separately as Ultimates (although obviously Mattel isn’t going to come out and say that). |
