So, I am a loose collector. I collect multiple lines and open everything with one exception. Since collecting AEW figs, I have come across four chases at retail. I have kept them in the package because they are chases, but I am now debating if it's worth it. I guess I am trying to get some opinions as to what I should do. Open or not? Thanks in advance.

If it's an attire I like, I'd happily open them.
If it's an attire I'm so-so on, I'd just sell it on Mercari and let somebody else enjoy them.

Depends. I haven’t opened the street clothes Cody (tan suit) because I am not a big fan of street clothes wrestling figures. But if it were one of his ring geared figures it would be open and front and center on my AEW shelf.

I opened the Unrivaled 6 Jericho chase. I have the tan suit Cody, Steelers Britt Baker, and the chase Nyla Rose, but I haven't opened those ones...yet.

I opened the Unrivaled 6 Jericho chase. I have the tan suit Cody, Steelers Britt Baker, and the chase Nyla Rose, but I haven't opened those ones...yet. Funny, with the exception of Rose, we have the same chases. I just got Cody yesterday. Starks is my fourth chase. |

Yeah, I think a handful of them were somehow just more...not plentiful, but available? Jericho is the only one I didn't get at retail. I grabbed that one on eBay for around $75 which is more than I wanted to spend on it, but it's a figure I really wanted. I'm a sucker for figures styled after shows I went to, and I was at that Dynamite in Boston when he wore that coat and introduced the Inner Circle by name for the first time. A user here tipped me off about Britt, and the other two were just lucky finds (and to that, I think Nyla was during a sale so I wound up getting her for like $15 or so). I'm still torn on what I want to do with them. The Britt is 100% more interesting than the standard (which I have somewhere), but the head is very off putting. If I could find one of her newer scans on eBay or something, maybe I'd open her. Nyla I still go back and forth on whether or not I want to open and swap out for her standard - again, a much more eye catching figure in the chase than the standard. Cody is the one I just don't have much need for, but I've gotta rearrange my collection sooner than later, and I've amassed so many Cody figures that I may look into some sort of Cody/Dusty shelf similar to my Savage one 'cause I'm just a mark for that whole family. If I do that, I might just keep him carded. Obviously my need for any of them is loose enough that they're all just sitting in storage right now, so they're always my "trade bank" if an interesting offer comes around. I was supposed to trade Britt for the Jericho a while back here, had a deal posted, and then the dude took my address and bailed on his account, so I'll have to be more discerning on that front in the future. If I ever get my hands on the Spears chase, I'm 100% opening that one. |

I am an opener, but I cant open these. I opened Nyla and the other 6 rare/chases I have are MOC for now.

I have mine moc for now as I am still figuring to best was to display stuff. Up to 10 total and 8 different after finding 1 for the last 3 weeks straight. The Shawn Spears and Brodie Lee are to 2 I am the most itchy to open and display but don't want to just put them in a zip lock and tote with others yet.

I opened UR3 Darby, UR3 Riho, UR4 Hardy, UR8 Moxley, UM2 Sting, & ShopAEW Shida. I also bought UR6 Hager & UR7 Nyla loose
I have 5 of the original 8 MOC (only missing Matt Hardy and the 2 Codys) along with a few of the later ones. Most of the ones I opened had damaged packaging so I didn’t feel too bad about opening them
My days of hunting for these super hard are over tho. I’d like to get the blue Thunder Rosa and Puerto Rican MJF to have loose and CM Punk and Nyla to have MOC but other than that they’d have to make an attire that I really want as a chase

You’re right it’s a tough decision.

I only have 6 but I keep the moc in protector cases. If I found an extra of one I really like I’d probably open the extra. There’s only three more I really want anyway so luckily I don’t have to worry myself much on the chases

I recently found my 2nd Anna Jay chase figure and have the same dilemma. Part of me wants to just open one of them and and another part of me wants to see if anyone has a different chase unopened and wanted to trade. Haven't pulled the trigger either way yet. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Pretty sure we're in the same area, so I think the best idea is to return the figures to the store and let someone else bear this burden for you :-)
But otherwise, handle them the way you do the rest of your collection. If you like MOC, then enjoy them as is. But if you're a loose collector, open those bad boys up!

I think the only chases I want are the Punk which I’d keep moc and the eye patch Mox which I’d probably display loose.
