UPDATE Glue works like a charm, gotta put a decent amount of glue to make it super sturdy, few tips, be carful not to glue anything else but the hip joints, also when it’s drying be sure the legs are both lock in place on the highest position so they don’t get stuck in different positions (left leg higher than right leg) I think I may have done that slightly but I also have a little bit of a wonky aj styles leg on that side anyway so it could just be Mattel not sure, but it works! If you’re tired of these drop down hips like me, try it out! ORIGINAL Anyone else having more of a problem with these in some figures than others? I thought I didn’t mind these when I got Brock and warrior a while ago, but now this new AJ styles seems to be worse than I expected, these hips clock down with slight movement and it’s becoming extremely frustrating, it’s less with Bret and razor but still is annoying with them as well Anyone else experienced something like this, I’m hoping maybe this aj styles is defective or something? I wish they would remove this add on of the drop down hips, it’s becoming very frustrating and makes ultimates less desirable to me and makes me want to somewhat move back to elites only, I wish they would fix this or better yet remove it all together if possible

If they're done right which is rarely they're great. But they are pretty much useless and more prone to break/cause issues. I wish all toy lines would axe them.
Your styles is doing what people hate the most about them. They just have a mind of their own.

My Warrior and Brock are fine and the Marvel Legends figures I have are also fine. Really hope the future UEs hold up for me as well

I have three UEs with this feature (Warrior, Razor, Legends Bret) and I have no problems with any of them.
Not sure of the utility they have but I don't hate them

I don’t really feel like I’ll ever need these on anyone besides RVD
I’m afraid to move the legs at all on these figures now. I’d be fine without them, the only benefit to these is they’re wiping out the remaining characters that use ratchet joint hips

Have Brock, warrior, razors, rude, and Jake, so far no issues I have noticed.
I have noticed issues with some of my power rangers from Hasbro, so while in theory it sounds good, the execution leaves a bit to be desired.
Was it needed? I don't think so.

I don’t have any figures with them yet. Will it be coming to Elites? I hope not.
I lowkey hate the toe articulation in Ultimates, too. I understand why it’s useful, but the more you use the toe articulation, the looser it becomes. Just like the wrist hinges.

It’s pointless to me and always bends when I’m not trying to move it. I have a couple of figures with drop down hips and I’m not a fan at all. They don’t add anything to me and move when I don’t intend them to.

Its a cool feature on-paper but adding movement in that little hip joint that is already known for being extremely fragile was bound to lead to some issues.
I'm in the same boat with the idea that I really liked this idea before I got a new UE with drop down hips. Then I got the new Brock and I really liked it. But now, I see a lot of people posting their broken UEs on Instagram.
Figures are just so easy to return anymore that I will take my chances but I am only going to be getting UEs from big box retailers now. That way its hassle free when I return it if it breaks.

Yeah, drop down hips and toe articulation, once they become loose, really downgrades a figure. Feels like a lot of these articulation choices are made to accommodate a small minority of collectors.

Yes - having to go through Mattel customer service for my Razor breaking was a nightmare.

Does the UE Cody have the drop-down hips? If so I hope the hips don’t break on that one as there’s no replacement for that one. Best case scenario is he went into production before they implemented them and doesn’t have them, but we know that’s not the case.

I remember when my razor broke due to those drop down hips I called Mattel CS and they told me unfortunately that item was sold out but they would send me one of those wrecking ambulances in his place if I agreed to send them back the broken Razor. Ridiculous. I wasn’t to worried about it though because I know I’ll eventually find him at Target. But if he was made to order I would have been screwed.

Three weeks later I got a check in the mail for the amount of the figure.
