I haven’t had any issues with the 4 I’ve had.
But feel sorry for those that have and hope it’s sorted out in the future. Hope this doesn’t become a big issue (or my issue lol)

I hate them I hate them I hate them... I absolutely hate the drop down hips, you can achieve the same range of motion with regular ball joint hips, I have a Mattel multiverse shazam that can do the splits and can bend 90° without any problems... I just got my Ultimate AJ and I literally cannot move the figure as it feels extremely fragile.

Anyone else having more of a problem with these in some figures than others? I thought I didn’t mind these when I got Brock and warrior a while ago, but now this new AJ styles seems to be worse than I expected, these hips clock down with slight movement and it’s becoming extremely frustrating, it’s less with Bret and razor but still is annoying with them as well Anyone else experienced something like this, I’m hoping maybe this aj styles is defective or something? I wish they would remove this add on of the drop down hips, it’s becoming very frustrating and makes ultimates less desirable to me and makes me want to somewhat move back to elites only, I wish they would fix this or better yet remove it all together if possible Absolutely the same, they should just remove them all together, I agree with you I'm less inclined to buy Ultimates.

As I said I hate them, because every line I collect that utilizes them it seems to make the figures more fragile. but that said luckily I haven’t had any issues/breakage with any figures breaking in those lines.

The thing is most standard ball joints in every line can have excellent range of motion but is usually hindered by the way the crotch is sculpted.

Turning the one barbell stem of the hips from one large solid piece into multiple (3+) smaller pieces makes the figures more fragile. Smaller parts break easier especially when they are supporting the whole leg. It’s not worth that to me. I truly hate when companies add that feature to their figures. There’s nothing anyone could say or show me that would change my opinion of them.

Here’s what eats me up, they spent all this money on drop down hips that I don’t recall anyone asking for, I would have rather them upgrade other things for ultimates then this, like soft good only accessories or better yet include a more realistic fine detailed belt that would be exclusive to ultimate editions, but I can’t see spending money on a add we didn’t ask for and most of us don’t want

I have 4 UE Superstars with drop-down hips. Multiples of 1 of them. Zero issues across all. 😅

Not a fan of the hips…but I’m assuming they’re here to stay.

I haven't bought a UE with them yet, but I'll take my chances with the drop down hips than frozen ratchet joints any day.

Don’t really get the point of them personally they look weird if your gonna display them like that and only increase the chance of the hop joint breaking

Not a fan of the hips…but I’m assuming they’re here to stay. It's either this or the rubber crotch pieces (aka diapers) that McFarlane, Neca and Super 7 uses. Seems like modern toy manufacturers are convinced that we need as much articulation and range of movement as humanly possible with legs. I don't necessarily agree with that but, I'm probably in the minority.

I feel like Deluxe Aggression figures had the same ability to do the Van Dam split with just a normal ball joint, so why not just make all the figures have better ball joints?

Drop down hips are something I’d been wanting, but I’m disappointed that you still can’t do a passable big boot.

Up until now I didn’t know what drop down hips meant and just never felt like asking.
